    Honda Quality? maybe maybe not

Sounds like you have some issues, none that I have with my 2012. Have to admit, I do not spend much time at 75 mph, but it will see 75 to 80 with passing, and when I've been out chasing a friend with his BMW 1200 GS, which walks right away from the NC. I still get 50 mpg. Around here 55 to 65...

    Bought me one today!

Going on 2 years with mine. Center stand for me was the best add on. Makes a bunch of things easier, especially keeping an eye on the chain. When you see kinked links, which may be very stiff or frozen to movement, the lube behind the o-rings is gone, and time to change, even if little stretch...

    Oil leaking under the kickstand

It's the oil off the chain.

A quicker turning sport touring tire?

Put on a pair of Shinko 009 Ravens, in stock sizes, a couple hundred miles back, and have to say I like them better than the OEM Bridgstones. They warm up fast at the recommended NC pressures. The Bridgestones seemed slow to warm, and I usually ran them 4 to 5 psi less than the recommended psi...

    WILL THE NC 700 SURVIVE-Questions?

As a former Missourian, from Douglas county Ozarks, I would say the NC is a great bike for all those wandering back roads. So easy to ride and keep up. If the dealer has not been selling them lately you may get a good deal. I usually buy and sell yearly, and now I find I'm thinking about keeping...

    Fly Screen for NC700X

shields We all seem to have different tolerances or what ever you want to call it to noise. I prefer a "naked motorcycle". I'm 6' 1" in height to answer one of the questions. I started by taking off the stock shield and seeing what the air flow noise for the NC was like, and have to say the...

    Fly Screen for NC700X

Face shield trimmed to match some of the lines on the NC and painted black on the back. I tried several heights and if they move the air flow to close to the bottom of the helmet I find they make noise. Art

questions on a potential NC700X purchase

Used a helmet faceshield. Had the right curve and size. Trimmed it some, painted the back black.

questions on a potential NC700X purchase

We are all different even if physically near the same. I'm 6' 2" and find the totally stock machine OK, and don't plan any changes after 2 years of ownership. I'm the weird one here and like "naked" motorcycles and have taken the stock windshield off and replaced it with a small "fly" shield...

    wind noise

Like most things, noise is an individual thing, so many of you will feel puzzled by this post. I was about ready to seek out a new helmet, when I discovered a very annoying sound I was hearing at my usual traveling speed was coming from the collar on my jacket. I found when I pinched the collar...

    Mpg

Ran another tank of fuel through the NC, and the mpg remains better than usual for me. 68 mpg with this fill-up. If it continues will have to give some credit to DID's claim that the x-ring chain has less drag than their o-ring chain. A

    Mpg

May be a fluke, but just put on a new DID VMX2, X-ring chain. DID claims less friction with this chain. I did feel it seemed to allow the wheel to spin easily when I put it on and after a couple hundred miles went for a fill up and was surprised that I got 72 mpg. Best I've ever got. Art

How many miles did You get with the original motorcycle chain

Found a frozen link at 9,500 miles, and had the new chain on the shelf that I got on sale. I've never had any luck working out tight links, and don't want a snapped chain out riding so changed out the orginal. New chain sure spins freely. I guess 10K is about average. Art

    Possible new competition from Yamaha

The Kawasaki ER-6N did not have great sales here in the US. Why would Yamaha want to bring a very similiar model to the US. Art
