I finally got the nerve to do mine at 40,000 Km. It went pretty good ... I had to do everything twice as I forgot to plug the temperature sensor back in and had to take it all apart a second time.
Yes I switched it over to Miles. So much easier to know what speed to ride when they keep changing it through towns and through construction areas. This was a really long stretch too so I took it easy to keep up the fuel economy. I was really lucky, had a tail wind both ways on this stretch.
I wanted to post a little from my first serious motorcycle adventure which began this Sept 4th.
Initially I had thought I couldn't ride so far with back pain that I too often get in my lower back but this bike has been pretty good. A good ride for me is one tank of gas on a Saturday though ...
I put this video together from a series of clips on my way back from Sturgis to Dickinson ND.
It was a beautiful drive and I was so happy with the scenery that I went back home the same way. :-)

Thanks for watching!
The top box mount is very forgiving. Not so much the side bags, so I switched out my Shad side arms for the GIVI ones and modified the GIVI mount to mount the Shad top box. The only issue is where you drill the extra two holes moves the top box forward / back in relation to the seat.
I did the fenda extenda upgrade.
The biggest thing I see on my shock tubes is the dead mosquitos that collect on it but I clean them off fairly often.
I'm not sure if mosquito guts would damage the seals but it probably would be a good idea to find something to cover up the shock tubes.
I had a massive leaking shock this spring when I took my NC750x out of hibernation this spring. The shock oil came out so much that it was pooling in the rim and overflowing onto the floor. No problem noticed at the end of the 2016 riding season. I was quite surprised as the bike only had...
I just installed my 3rd front tire today on the NC750x. I purchased this tire last fall already but was discouraged by the local MC shop from putting it on back then.
I've been a little annoyed by a wobble that happens around 70km if I'm not holding the handle bars to dampen them. Not...
Hi FlyinFree!
Sorry for the delay.
I just had to drill two extra holes (If I remember correctly) in the Givi mounting arms. I didn't want to drill the Shad mounting plate as it's plastic already and I didn't want to weaken it.
You'll like it! I've never been that fond of the looks but they control the air so much better. I've tried the Puig tall windscreen and the original with a deflector bolted on (couldn't find the ratcheting adjustors) and I even played with forming my own from a previous Burgman 400 windscreen...
This summer, I was able to test drive a CB500X and had read many good things about it and it's soul, so needless to say I was curious. I was quite disappointed. It felt like I was sitting on it ... not at all part of it. Maybe I didn't rev the snot out of it enough, but I didn't find it to...
