Beemer's first road trip for 2013

I assume you are going to the Finger Lakes BMW rally. One of my all time favorites, sorry I will miss it this year. You do know about the great German restaurant over looking Seneca lake? You're not tenting are you? Oh by the way, I just scheduled knee replacement on Oct. 14.

Knock'um up out Beemerphile! Past Pittsburg already. When you get back you are going to have to explain to me how this SPOT Shared Page works! Heck, some one might actually be able to find me after my next crash!!

But then again, it could be my wife tracking me!3.jpg

I was sitting in Whitehorse Yamaha in the Yukon getting an oil change and the guy came in and handed me the phone. It was my cousin. He saw where I was and switched to Google Earth and saw the Yamaha dealership and called it.

Yes, yes, no, and Ouch!

I always stay at the Seneca Lodge down the hill from the rally site. They have a decent restaurant of their own as well.

I'm enjoying following along on the spot site. But I feel like what my kids would call a 'creeper'. :) I put you latest GPS coordinates in google maps. Are you really staying at Americas Best Value Inn?

Creeper out. :)

Yep. If I was upside down in a ditch in the middle of nowhere that would be valuable information. When I lost a bag of meds in the Yukon and someone turned them in to a Mountie, it is how she told him where I was (after she got over thinking he had called to tell her I was in an accident). He called the pharmacy on the drug bottles to get my wife's number. They had fun with it too (small town theatrics).

As far as finding the name and phone number, just keep increasing the magnification until the point of interest icon shows up and click it. Gives phone number and often a street view.
