What are you paying for your NC700X?

$8900 total out the door. Actual out of the dealer door as financed. Subtract from that 1300 for trunk, saddlebags and required mounting equipment for all that with full installation, puts us at $7600.
I paid 600 for 4 years of extended warranty. Probably not necessary, but I've used warranties before to my advantage. Anyway, that leaves us at $7000.
Take away from that freight at $310 and setup at $335 puts us at 6355. State doc fee $199, State tax 134, State other fees 142 totals = 475.
That makes the bike 5880. I only cleared about $225 for the trade of my previous bike, not what I wanted, but I still think I got an ok deal, and someone else can get a good deal on a used FJR for their enjoyment.
Basically for comparison for anyone looking to buy, the dealer did quote me on the phone about $7100 to drive off after all fees, taxes, etc... before I added luggage. I feel like he honored it more or less.
What do you guys think?
Feel free to make fun of any math errors!

I just paid $7000 out the door here in Wake Forest, NC. I actually had an offer from Brewers in Henderson of $6880 out the door, but opted to go with the dealer I know.

My dealer wasn't happy at all when I told him about the offer, he even called Brewers to complain to them. But in the end he took me up on my $7000 offer to him.
My deal was done entirely by email. I even filled out the credit application online and emailed them a photo copy of my drivers licence. I was only at the dealership 30 minutes to sign papers.

I had thought I would rather have the red version, but after looking at this almost two tone grey-black bike for the past year, I found it had grown on me. It didn't hurt that the red 2013 version was an extra $500 either!

I had gotten a $7800 out the door quote from my dealer about a month ago. I spent that extra $800 on the taller windscreen, the upper and lower deflectors, center stand, Givi monokey side case and top case mounting brackets and a set of barkbusters along with some miscellaneous smaller things like a chain oiler, ram mount hardware, dual usb port...etc
All the above parts I ordered either from Rocky Mountain ATV (thanks to whoever posted about their 25% off OEM parts sale here) and twisted Throttle (thanks again to whoever posted the 15% off code here).

This thread helped me to find others in my area who had purchased this bike and get in contact with dealers who would give a great price. This forum saved me $800 on the bike and probably a couple hundred on the aftermarket add ons I have ordered since. If your reading this forum and are getting ready to buy... do your homework also check cycle trader (website). You can save alot of $$$ if you spend the time doing the research (thanks to owenhatteras for the cycle trader tip).

One last tip.. check the member map for members in your area and email them asking where they got their bikes. My local members were very helpful and I mentioned them in my emails to the dealers when I was asking my OTD price. The dealers of course looked up the price they paid and were willing to offer me the same deal.

Just put a deposit on a manual 2012 in Cincinnati for $6,400 (not including tag and tax). OK to good deal I think. I did a lot of shopping out of state by phone and I found a couple dealers that were a little under $6,300 out the door (not including tag and tax stuff). But we are coming down to the end of the line on 2012 availability and the 2013 is $500 more and is apparently identical so I had to scramble to lock one in. Plus going 60 miles versus 400 to 800 miles out of state saved me at least a hundred dollars of hassle, even as it deprives me of bragging rights for lowest price.

Dealer is also giving me 15% off on accessories, so I'm adding a center stand for $127 plus tax (installation free). I don't know if that is normal or not, my closest dealer only gives 10% off on accessories with a bike purchase and charges labor.

The best deal I found was Chattanooga which has been mentioned twice before in this thread. $6,295 out the door (not including tag and tax) plus $150 credit for accessories for out of state buyers. I thought that was pretty darned good and had every intention of getting one there after the run around at my local dealer but things got complicated. No more bikes available from Honda, and Chattanooga likes to put accessories on bikes in stock. So all four in stock had installed accessories (plus labor charges) including new exhausts of all things, none of which I wanted and added over $500 of cost.

So after looking at the national ads and calling dealers. One for out the door $6,250 in Laurel MS - 800 miles away. With many CycleTrader ads pitching prices that turned out to add prep, delivery and such on top, I decided to just Google Map local dealers and managed to find one nearby with one in stock. So hopefully all will turn out well, will probably pick up Monday or as soon as center stand comes in. Haven't been there yet, so it is not a done deal yet - crossing fingers.

You got a great deal on the bike. Smart move grabbing a 2012. Good for you.

The dealers are doing you no favors on accessories. Don't waste your money on 10-15% off accessories. On line sources are 22% - 25% off list with no tax, plus free shipping over $99 purchase. See the vendor section of this forum for those sources - Procaliber and RockyMountainATVMC. Or, you could ask your dealers to match those on line discounts (but you'd still be adding tax to buy local).

Welcome to the club! BTW, good handle - velocity - LOL.

$7200 +Tax on 13' DCT. THat's the best I could find around .... And even for that I have to travel almost 400 miles from home to OH (nice ride back though). Dealers here are NOT dealing....
They just don't order until they get what THEY want...

Hey .....

That's a great price considering a base MSRP of $8499 on the 13' DCT --- which dealer in Ohio ?? Also did they give you a time frame of when they might be available ??

Well thanks Greg. Good eye on the screen name.

Yes, I saw the posts for RockyMountain yesterday and checked it out. Indeed I would save $15 plus another $10 tax on the parts cost for a center stand, but it is still close to being a wash with free installation. I'm assuming it would be difficult to do it myself without a stand.

I have a question for you, RockyMountain said limited time sale for the 25% off. Are these prices are actually available most any time?

Oh, and does this mean my nearby dealer lied when he said no discounts on Honda accessories because the margin was only 25% on OEM?

RockyMountain had been stating their sale would end last Monday, but as of Friday it is still on. So I don't what to expect.

I don't know about the dealer lying (No way!), but as we can see there are sellers out there obviously making a profit at 22-25 percent off list.

I installed my center stand myself, as have others. There is a thread or two about it. Some people were frustrated dealing with the springs, some gave up, while others thought it was a piece of cake. You just install it under the bike while she sets on the side stand. If your dealer does it for free maybe that's the way to go.

Good luck!

Greg

A major part of the reason for me to purchase the NC is that I'm a cheap bastard and turning into a bit of a hypermiler (not really a fun obsession) with a car that seldom cracks 30. I bicycle around town (and even an 8 mile radius to other towns) but the short car trips make me feel guilty about the environment even as the Scots in me is disliking the 50 cents a mile to run my car. It does kill me to spend even an extra penny at the pump, so I'm feeling rather mixed about losing $25 on the centerstand even with free installation. I'm decent with tools and it doesn't look that difficult, so if the dealer changes his tune or delays delivery, I have that option. I'm certainly not going to spend $100 plus supplies for a simple oil change, and am planning on doing the valve tappet adjustments myself.

I'm really looking forward to 60+ mpg. I'm hoping it significantly relieves my hypermile OCD and reluctance to drive. I drove both the Prius C and liftback before committing to the NC but I'm very happy to wait a couple years on a new car. Things are progressing very fast with hybrids so I expect some exciting options in the near future. I really didn't like the dynamics on the Prii so I'm thinking, a third the price for the NC, even higher mileage, and far better handling and acceleration.

I just paid $6,361.00 for a 2012 NC700X on Thursday of this week. Very fair price I thought. The dealer told me he lost $30.00 on the deal but I DOUBT that!

He did! Manufacturer price is $6399. They sell BMW's at that place? I'll need to pay this guy a visit.

Less holdback and incentives. I believe every dealer can still make a profit even under $6,300. I paid $6,400 but could have paid under $6,300 if I was willing to drive out of state.

Hi,
Its Honda Direct Line in Bellair OH. He said around end of April.

Hmm... Are you sure it is the DCT? $1,300 dollars off list price doesn't sound possible, especially since Honda has likely not announced dealer pricing. Are you sure they didn't quote you for the manual? That would be $300 off list price. I hope you have it in writing.

The teaser ads on CycleTrader are running the 2013 DCT at $8,999 (yes, $500 over list) and the 2013 manual at $6,999 ($500 under list). It looks to me like they are just running the 2012 list prices. Pretty pathetic! I can't make sense of such a business practice, they are wasting their marketing money.

For what it is worth, the dealer I'm buying the NC from says (a week later) that Honda is backordered on the center stand. So I did purchase it today from Rocky Mountain although it is backordered there as well with a mid April estimate. Fine with me. I also downloaded the install instructions found on another thread here (they may come with the center stand too). So I saved some money, and may or may not enjoy the installation - springs can be a bitch sometimes.

Thanks for the tips and I'll pick up the NC sans center stand tomorrow or Wednesday depending on snow!

The MSRP for the 2013 NC700X 6 speed manual transmission was raised $500.00 and the MSRP for the 2013 DCT was lowered $500.00
