It is the unknown that makes the trip an adventure. When on the road you will learn quickly to handle the unknown. Don't hurry and let things pass you by. Live life!

Not sure. I already feel I have a lot draining my battery while riding (visibility and top box lights, probably 1-1.5A, spot tracker, probably 1.5A peak, my own tracker, possibly 2A peak, Tomtom GPS probably 1A ) and I'm adding the heated grips today. I want to be sure I will be able to start my bike the next day... And I'll be riding every day during around 2 months, often with no outlet to plug my battery tender into... And I just checked the vests, they are sucking 3.5A...
I'm sure a fleece jacket will do under my two layers riding jacket... and fleece pants under my riding pants too.
If not enough, well, I'll stop often and drink a lot of hot coffee
I wouldn't want to set out without all the electric warming stuff. Being cold is it's own kind of misery and stopping to warm up is just not an option a lot of the time. An aching wrist or migraine headache might well be tolerated while you 'suck it up' but cold has a way of turning into hypothermia, ain't nobody sucking that up.
If you want to pass through London Ontario I can put you up for a day or two. Detroit -> London -> Niagra Falls -> South from there.
Not sure when the next cold day is. Tuesday and Wednesday were cool. Would have been nice for you to take a test burn to say Hope and check your set up. I was out but only for about 30 mins. Fingertips were cool which would have been offset by heated grips if I had them. Everything else was fine at 3.5 C(38F).
Do you have a pinlock lens for your helmet? I found it made a huge difference in the fogging.
It's your ride, but you could save some coin and time, by running PR4'S or other tires instead of TKC's since you're taking the interstate highways. I mention the PR4'S because the do very well on wet pavement.
The pr4's are ok on easy gravel and will go many miles
I'm hard on tires and get about 7000 on miles.
Already have the TKC-80s in my garage... not worth sending them back and getting different ones
Now I was about to change the tires myself, but it seems to be such a pain to find a 18mm hex bit for that stupid front axle... why not using an external bolt as everyone else, Honda?
Amazing. [emoji45] i guess I need to ensure my riding gear is waterproof LOL

Great weather to test it out now. My boots and jacket are awesome. Pants and gloves...mostly waterproof. Damp gloves and crotch from the 30 minute ride yesterday. Depends on your tolerance for moisture. I think if you going to do the big miles would be nice to find out before your in the middle. Can always get a rain oversuit or overgloves.
