I know that many on this board love their NC700X. Many of us also like to modify them as soon as we get them. To help others with these choices list the top five things you have done and the top five things you would like to do.

Mods:
Seat I did it my self but have a Corbin on order
OEM Light Bar This is a nice addition and it looks good as well
Driving Lights These were made by Pilot and work very well
Taillight assembly I removed the large factory lawn chair looking thingy

Skidmarx Rear hugger
Wrap around Hand guards , I don't know which
12 volt accessory plug

Engine skid plate When I can find one

Added Puig crash pads. ( I had givi engine guard bars but now are for sale ).

Honda top case
Honda Center Stand
Heated grips
Barkbusters handguards

Will be adding,

Denali Micro lights ( already in the garage witing to be mounted)
Givi engine guard
Hugger ( not sure which one just yet )
Different windscreen ( not in love with the Honda tall screen )
Different seat

Favorite improvements

1) Russell seat (I think, I hope)
2) RaceTech front suspension
3) HID headlight
4) Ohlins rear shock
5) Custom Touring Tail Tidy with flat rack

Left to do:

1) Bash plate
2) DIY mounts for 1 gal. RotoPax on each passenger footrest.
3) Mount Dually D2 lights on wind deflectors (keeping the original Duallys)

I was not happy with the permanently installed auxiliary fuel tank on my BMW. It was great on expeditions, but unnecessary weight and bulk the rest of the time. An NC with two 1 gal. fuel containers will have over 300 mile range, which works everywhere I have been or plan to go. Mounting the two plastic containers on the passenger footrests places the weight as low and forward as possible and it will be easily removed when not needed.

My order of list varies a bit:

On order:
Honda tall screen
Honda saddle bags
Honda center stand
E3 Super LED Brake light
Ebay black adjustable brake lever

Items pending installation by me (when I can find time here soon):
Honda heated grips
Shinhopple foam grips
Honda rear carrier/top box
Honda fake tank and pannier covers
Honda pannier stays
Honda Frunk accessory socket
Honda Light bar / will use my Denali LED lights with them

Items already installed:
Pyramid rear hugger
Battery tender lead to keep battery on tender when parked

Promised myself I wouldn't exceed 2g's on the accessories budget but went over by $300. I know you asked for top five but my immediate requirements were the battery tender leads and the rear hugger.

My top five:
Battery charging
Rear hugger
Front driving lights
Rear additional brake lights
Luggage

I will add an NCS to the mix

My first 5 modes were

1. Beowulf silencer
2. R&G tail tidy
3. Pelacrash bungs
4. Rossocromo hugger
5. Honda fly screen

I only have 1 more thing to add to make it how i want it and that is a radiator guard.

Which Acerbis guards did you install? Any pictures? I have black rally pros on my SM and have been thinking about moving them over to the NCX.

Thanks,

WGW

I bought my NC to be a daily commuter, so for me it's all about making it more comfy, especially during the winter.

Done:
Calsci tall screen
OEM heated grips (2X, as I broke the first one installed)
upper & lower wind deflectors

Pending:
Corbin replacement seats
Rox handlebar risers (haven't found the time/will to deal with the short front brake fluid hose)

Considering:
Cycra Probend handguards

Mods:
1. Saddle bags
2. Heated grips and controller
3. Heated jacket port and controller
4. GPS hard wire and Ram ball mount
5. Rear rack

To do list:
1. Windshield (patiently waiting)
2. Center stand (patiently waiting)
3. Hand guards
4. An actual electronic cruise control
5. Left handle bar control replacement (going to solve that horn / turn signal button placement issue).

Probably put in a TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) when I wear out the OEM tires. Oh, and a radiator guard, when I find one I like.

I have a set of duel roads here now ,,and am abit disappointed,,they look pretty narrow and do not look to offer much protection( I think I,ll send back),does any one know of any hand guards with the full frame(2 attachments) that attaches without having too remove the bar end weights?????

Sounds like you guys have a bad case of farkleitis! Not to worry lots of us get it especially when a new bike is involved. Sure sign you have it there is a burning in you wallet pocket, catalogs arriving in the mailbox and dreaming at night....about that hot smokin 2.....wheeled critter in the Garage.

Only cure known is stopping the burn or the dreams turn to another...hot smokin critter...maybe a 2 legged one!

1) seat modified to make it slightly lower & gel pad inserted
2) taller screen
3 top box
4)Hugger
5 crash bars
I certainly would not want to have to stop at 5 to make my NC a practical tool for all year round commuting

Both bikes set up the same. Honda stuff. Tall windscreen
Heated grips
Light bar
Saddle bags
Top case. (Shared)

After market. Rostra cruise control
Hand guards
Micro lights. (Twisted throttle)
H-D highway pegs (hanging from front cross bar)
Olin's shock
TKCs

Wants. Front forks (redone)
Skid plate

Not really mod, but more like add-on

Done:
1. Honda Tall Windscreen (08R72-MGS-A30ZA)
2. Honda Centerstand (08M70-MGS-A30)
3. Hepco and Becker Engine Guard (501.973 00 01)
4. Barkbusters handguards
5. Horn
6. 12V USB single outlet
7. led light for night touring

Pending:
1. Hepco and Becker Alurack (650.973 0101)
2. Hepco and Becker Jonior 55 (610.047 0001)
3. Chain Oiler

I wanted mine to be as light as possible to maintain fuel efficiency as well as maneuverability. Went for minimum upgrades as every little bit makes the bike heavier.

1) Centre Stand - A must for maintenance and great for wheel cleaning as i have a DCT.
2) R&G rear hugger to protect the under carriage of the rear arch as it can get messy out there
3) Front Fenda extenda to protect the rad and engine area
4) R&G heated grips, one third cheaper than OEM Honda ones and not much different in my opinion.

Thats all I am ever going to upgrade as I find the front trunk has plenty of space and I don't need top box etc.
