Any problems with clutch cable?

This is first clutch cable in many years.Have had hydraulic actuated clutch recently.Back in the 70s we would "buddy tape" a spare cable to the clutch and brake cable in case one would break.Does anybody do that anymore? I am thinking the cables are better engineered now.

Not a bad idea to buddy tape a clutch cable though no one has reported of a failure yet.

The buddy taped cable goes back to the British cable days and early failures on dirt bikes.........Honda cables are lined and it is common to last twenty years or more if dirt and moisture are controlled.
