Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS Review

Got to talk to a fellow on the new Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS this week a Overland Expo. He had the same feeling as this article once in the Arizona dirt and rocks.

"Forget slow speeds -- which means forget off-roading -- because 1st and 2nd gear, along with the instant on/off throttle response and the monster torque (and those big slapping pistons) all conspire to work completely against smooth riding, both off-road and in the city. Better hope that you never get stuck in stop/go traffic on this thing...it isn't fun!"

The NC700 holds it's own in the dirt at high and low speeds when equipped with 40/60 tires set at 25 psi.

Poor guy doesn't sound too thrilled with his new ride. Lists a lot of things that bother him about it.

That's tough to deal with right from brand new, but hopefully it grows on him or he can adapt.

Wow... impressive...I'm going to dump my dirt bag NC and go get one of those.... well maybe not. (smile)
