    Dead Motorcycle

On the very night I made the first post, I turned the key again, seeing a very faint headlight. Therefore, I've correctly assumed it was the battery. Charged it at an electrician's shop and it's good as new... for now. However, I've had trouble posting that on the forums - obviously, it was...

    Dead Motorcycle

This morning, when getting out of the house fully armored in my riding gear, I turned the key - and exactly nothing happened. It's as if the bike is 100% dead. No lights on the display, no sound, no headlights, nothing. As if it's switched off with a kill switch, only it isn't. I had to grab an...

    Should I change my tires?

My Michelin Pilot Road 5 have arrived, and I've tested them for the past two months. So I'd like to report: Let me just say that, a first ride on them, and the feeling of confidence I had as soon as I threw away the stock tires is something I'd like to relive someday again... it was like a foot...

Finally!!! Zero Wind Noise Windscreen / Spoiler Blade Solution

It would've been really helpful if everyone could list their body heights along with sizes of wind shields purchased :)

    Should I change my tires?

Very well said. I guess it's just the way it is... still, I'll always try to minimize this climate's negative effects. Unfortunately no, I cannot rent anything - providing a sun shade is the best I can do. Can't wait for my new tires to arrive :)

    Should I change my tires?

Update: The place I'm getting tires at actually has Pilot Road 5... I guess newer is better than older, so I'm getting that at approx 340 USD. Well the least I will do is keep it covered from sunlight. However temperatures during the summer can get pretty wild here, and there's 2-3...

    Should I change my tires?

Whatever the case may be - they're too worn out from the heat or maybe the humidity, or the constant dust, or plainly old age... I'll definitely look into a way of protecting them further. My bike is in the house's shade for most of the daytime, and it's always covered fully with a large canvas...

    I Want Protection

I live in a place where June through September it's pretty much a no-go for bikes (typically 110F+ during the day, up to 120F, with humidity kicking in as the sun sets). I don't think there's any protection in which you won't be soaking in sweat after wearing it for 5min. Riding 60+mph and the...

    Should I change my tires?

This is the status of the tires (back is the one with the better lighting, front is the newer one): Imgur: The magic of the Internet Don't know if the previous owner was telling the truth, but it would seem that he wasn't. Tires are 4-5 years old, which in the climate where I live in, is...

    Should I change my tires?

Thanks guys as always! I'm sorry for asking some questions that were already asked elsewhere: I'm inclined to make the budget choice and get Shinko 705s. I'm riding on road surface 95% of the time, and while those tires are 80/20, I'd still prefer to have the choice of going off road from time...

    Should I change my tires?

Thanks for the responses guys! Obviously... how cracked is cracked? Not experienced at tires... Who knows what their age is... I only have the word of a previous owner, who's long gone (from the country). The bike has been kept almost exclusively in the shade, never under the direct sun...

    Should I change my tires?

Sort of a newbie here... I bought my bike some 2500-3000 miles ago, and the former owner said he'd changed the less than 1000 milea before that. Should be of note that I live in a very hot country (with lots of sand/dust), riding 100% on road. Reason I ask is because everytime I brake even...

My first fall and its consequences

Sure will... One bad news though. I didn't bring the stem (or whatever that triangle is called), so the guy who does the straightening told me that I will probably need a new one (because it usually distorts when forks do). So there you go, another 4 weeks waiting for another part, which I'll...

My first fall and its consequences

An update - I went back to my home country for a vacation, and took the bent forks with me. A guy who works exclusively in the field of straightening bent steel got them both fixed for 70$. So there you go a 1030$ save.

My first fall and its consequences

Easy or not - doesn't really help me, given that the dealer mechanic is going to rebuild them. The problem for me is the price of the new part, which cannot be circumvented... Come to think of it, how often are forks bent after a fall?

My first fall and its consequences

550$ is for the Fork assembly, which I would interpret as not just the tubes. This is the designation of the parts: 51400-MGS-D31 or 51500-MGS-D31.

My first fall and its consequences

To all of you guys - thanks for all the advice! So from what I see, the general consensus is that I should replace front forks. I'm very inexperienced, however I do think the bends that I attached within images really seem bendable and repairable. I don't believe the bending back would cause...

Incredibly annoying buzzing, high-frequency vibration recently appeared

I'm sorry for not giving any updates to this issue. I have suspected that valves need calibrating (sorry, not sure of the way it's called), or whatever, but they did the distance checks and said it was fine. They did however say that engine mounts were a little loose and that they tightened...

My first fall and its consequences

First of all, I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong part of the forums. So I was lanespliting, went a little too fast (around 40mph), a guy in front of me changed lanes suddenly and I immediately braked, slipped and fell. The bike went into the vehicle in front of me, and hit his rear...

Incredibly annoying buzzing, high-frequency vibration recently appeared

I hope I surprise you! I understood you, it's just that I wanted to eliminate the option of having engine damage due to no-oil out of the equation... Still, it might be that the previous owner didn't take the bike for a clearances checkup, and that incremental discrepancies between, what...
