Also just installed a set of Shinko 009 Ravens, easy to mount with minimal balancing weight. Previously been using various Z... Metzlers. This is about my 6-7 set of tires at about 32K miles.
2012 NCX
I've been averaging about 5,000 miles per set of tires from mostly Metzlers. Suprised too how the NC goes through tires, think I'm on 5th set of tires with little over 33,000 miles. Ridden mostly in the twisties, solo very little highway use. Usually changed before the wear indicators because...
Bought my 2012 NC700x in 2015 at 4,400 miles, now with 33,000+ miles only regular maintenance which I do myself including tires, it's been highly reliable. Nearing the end of my six decade over 200,000+ mile riding career and my NC could possible be my last bike. Someone posted about chain...
Was watching a youtube channel recently and the fastest age group for fatalities is riders over 60-70 year old at least here in the USA. Additionally, living in a "seasonal" climate, takes a while for sleepy car drivers to acclimate to motorcycles. I've experienced this for more than 60 years...
mzflorida,
Was curious how the Noco NLP14 battery is performing after a few months. Was there any difficulties installing or any cable attachment issues?
Hope you also asked them to check/change the number of links in the chain if it specifies a shorter chain. Info on number of chain links should also be in the manual.
Coincidence I just put my 40 year old Eclipse tank bag on my NC that I have used for years. It has the classic three point mounting and a clear map pocket.
If the speedo is that far off, I'll take a guess they installed 16/41 sprockets which is for the NC700X, manual. I think on the NC750 models all Honda changed was the front sprocket from 16 to 17 teeth. Might want to check the number of links in the chain too, since the DCT uses a shorter...
They used the 750 Hornet Unicam engine, re-tuned and with various ride modes, like the spoked wheels even though they are tube type, easier tires changes and probably won't leak air if the rim is damaged. Supposed to sell for under $10,000 ($9,999 US.) Quite a few Mfr's/models in this segment. I...
It's not unusual for the steering to flop one side with the front wheel off the ground since the weight of the wheel/suspension will be on the top steering head bearing - the lower bearing supports the weight normally. Have you tried changing the fork oil? Unusual the wheel bearings replaced...
Yeah, I'm older and grumpier too, don't care to be doing the same thing multiple times and gave up arguing, not worth the (my) time and effort, sometimes just get a bad tire. Tires are wear items anyway however, you expect a new tire to at least not create more problems. Not to go off on a...
Just happened to be reading this thread today as I have a 2012 NC and will eventually be replacing the clutch with either EBC or Barnett. Appears the stock disc thickness is 2.62-2.78 with a service limit of 2.3. Anyway attached are some pics from my Honda 2012-2013 NC700X Honda service manual...
Glad this thread came up about the Shinko Ravens as was considering these for my next set of tires. I am aware of the the center groove in the front tire causing problems on some road surfaces. I remember years ago there was some problems with Shinko tires when they were first introduced in the...
See this thread is a couple seeks old but I have a 2012 NC700X with about 27,000 and has been trouble free. As discussed on this forum consider upgrading the front and rear suspension. One thing to note is the first year medels are built entirely in Japan. A lot of gunk natually accumulates on...
Yes that's only 1A and fused using a dedicated fuse which is a real PIA to get to as it is bured under the side panel in the accessory wire harness. The OEM Honda kit uses a standard regular Cig lighter outlet. About all I use the Frunk port for is to charge my cell phone. My GPS may be wired...
