Glad to hear that you are here with us and able to relate the story! Mine was 8 years ago and it was a deer that took the bike out from under me, 22 days in the hospital and 3 months before I could ride. Now 8 years later, 6 different bikes (trying to find just the right one) and still riding...
Super! The only thing to know with those is that they can break after time and you aren't able to adjust the tension. I looked at the composite one first, but decided I wanted something adjustable depending on grip diameter.... and something a little more durable.
Look at Go Cruise, around $30, and it works. I have the aluminum one with the adjustable tension on mine, nothing permanent and if you sell the bike later you take it with you.
Hopefully you will learn to really enjoy the bike as I have. I have the airhawk and it works great! I thought I would have to change the seat but now I will keep it and use my Airhawk. IMHO I would ride it for awhile before buying a lot of accessories, I have found out over the years that you...
Very cool! looks like an old school bobber! This has always been my gripe with a lot of the new metric bikes, too much plastic! I cant wait to get my SW MOTECH bash plate so I can remove the plastic panels. On my Harleys there was very little plastic, lens covers was about it!
Sorry to all the manuals out there, but if it didnt have the DCT I would have bought the "other" bike or kept my WR250R. The look of the standard NC especially in silver just doesnt didn't do it. The DCT was the deciding factor for me, there isn't anything out there that is even close to the...
I really think you should seriously consider the WR250R over the 450...better economy, longer interval maintenance schedules, street legal and will handle highway easily, and very adequate power offroad.
I sold my 2013 WR250R prior to buying my NC. I loved the WR, it will run 70 all day, was far more capable offroad than I am, normal maintenance schedules, valves/etc. (much better than the 450). For me plenty of power off road, very light 295#, high stock seat height approx. 36", but lots of...
I had a 2009 Versys. I loved it, great suspension, decent fuel economy. It had some vibration you would feel in the pegs and bars at 65-70 mph which would get old on longer rides. There have been times that I miss it, it was a lot of fun, really stable and easy to ride. Just my opinion, but it...
Rode 300 miles on Saturday from home along the south shore of Lake Superior to Bayfield WI. What a cold ride, 40-45 degrees with 20-25 mile wind off the lake!Beautiful ride! Really starting to enjoy the NC! Should have close to 600 miles now, so we will be changing oil soon.
Installed my new Givi engine guards Friday night, no problem with fit, all went well. Saturday first ride of the year and with the new bike. 185 miles, left the house in the mid 40's rode down to Silver Bay on the northshore of Lake Superior and rode along the lake to Duluth and then headed...

Sorry to hear of his passing. I am new to this forum and community but cancer seems to touch all of us in so many ways. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and his family, God bless.
Installed windscreen I bought from CB4ME and new SW Motech steel luggage rack. Now I just need warmer weather and left knee to heal (torn MCL) so I can get out. I have ordered the Givi engine guards that should be here by the end of the week, which I will mount highway pegs which should allow me...
