Question about left side panel fasteners on '12 NC700X

Ok, everything is back together and in the right place. The mystery nut clip did attach at the front with the Phillips head screw. Thanks to Ackme for the nut clip info and Agent for his videos. As far as the 1/4" Wheel Opening Retainers GM 21077123 by Clipsandfasteners, Inc., I got from Amazon...

Question about left side panel fasteners on '12 NC700X

Greg, even properly removed and inserted, a couple don't seem to hold as tightly when reused and one broke apart. What I really object to was the $2.56 replacement cost for each clip!

Question about left side panel fasteners on '12 NC700X

Many thanks to all for your replies. Today, my package of 25 GM Wheel Opening Retainer push clips from Amazon will be arriving so I can return to the bike tomorrow and once again remove the left side panel with a ready supply of plastic push clips to replace all the OEM clips I will destroy...

Question about left side panel fasteners on '12 NC700X

For all you plastic removal experts- I took off the left side panel and left side air duct panel to add a battery charger pigtail. As I took off the panel a 5mm metal nut clip fell to the floor. Also, the 5mm Phillips head screw from the upper left front attachment point under the forks...

It could only happen to me - Dale's rack install

Well, removed about half of the staples holding the rear seat cover, removed the foam and exposed the problem bolt. It was just as Lars described. Ended up drilling two holes on opposite sides of the bolt "head" just large enough to get a small pair of vise grips clamped on it. It took quite a...

It could only happen to me - Dale's rack install

Thanks for the replies. Leaning toward taking the seat apart since that doesn't require any tool purchases and will allow me to fix (JB Weld) the knurled heads in place on all three bolts.

It could only happen to me - Dale's rack install

So, I was going to remove the rear seat and install Dale's rack with the fuel cutout. Simple, right? Just remove the rear seat by loosening the three 10mm mounting nuts. Got two off, and was wondering why the third (center) one was taking forever. Lo and behold, the bolt was spinning as I...

Hard-where? Crimp clamps for windscreen tubing

Well the Germans call them Klemmhülsen which translates into "ferrules." All I have to do is spend about 9 Euros for the kit and another 20 or so for shipping, and I'll be set!

Hard-where? Crimp clamps for windscreen tubing

Thanks for the suggestions. I know the clips are out there, somewhere. The Honda Tall Screen has them as well as an after-market MRA sceen. May try a couple auto parts and hobby/crafts stores before giving up and using an adhesive.

Hard-where? Crimp clamps for windscreen tubing

Anyone have an idea where I can find the crimp clamps like they use at the ends of the tubing/trim they use on the windscreen? It would be the little black thing on the lower, left edge of the screen looking at the bike. They probably have some other name that I have not guessed yet since...

Honda Top Case lock can't be matched to ignition key?

I did, didn't find anyone here in the U.S. who is using one key to operate the ignition, the Honda side case locks and the 45 liter Honda top case lock. Is your Honda top case the 45 liter size? And I also didn't know you could get ABS without the getting auto transmission. Switzerland sounds...

Honda Top Case lock can't be matched to ignition key?

I asked my dealer to match the ignition key to the Honda side case and top case locks but was told the ignition key could only be matched to the side case locks. Any of you guys in the U.S. with the Honda top case have a different opinion? If so, how did you proceed?

    Windscreen parts

I recently bought a 2012 NC700X that came with the larger, Honda windscreen. I bought a MRA Vario Touring Screen and have been unable to install it. It appears when the higher Honda screen was installed it uses different hardware than the stock lower screen. Of course, none of the parts...
