Ok, thanks for that, I'm off on a fully loaded 2 up tour next month - not sure if I'll make the up grade before or see how it goes. The basic Nitron has the same pre-load adjustment method as the Honda shock, so I'm not sure how much I would gain, and the better spec one is too expensive for me.

So how is the on-road change to the oem so far? I'm thinking of getting the basic Nitron shock, but if its no improvement over the stock unit....Any thoughts appreciated.

Interesting. The above dyno chart like the one on the Leo Vince site shows precious little change form stock yet they claim "Leovince DECAT CONVERSION removes the power sapping stock catalyst giving improved power and better pickup...", and I've seen a number of reports form owners with decat...

I had a test ride last week on the 750X. The engine is much revised in feel due to the 2nd balance shaft and the taller gearing. The increased power is noticeable and the engine has a smoother more refined feel over the 700, but the higher gearing still makes for slow acceleration in top gear...

I'm also keen to hear opinions on this as my 2k miles NC front sprocket has about 1mm of side play. The reason this concerns me is that Honda have previous on problems with counter shaft wear, (Africa Twin and Transalp), and I can't find any reference to acceptable limits in the service manual.

For anyone else looking to improve wind protection I would say have a go and make some of these deflectors - I did so a couple of weeks ago - just followed Beemerphiles excellent detailed description of the process and am delighted at the result, great additional protection for very little outlay.
