Theres been rumors swirling of Honda bringing back the Trans Alp name. Middleweight ADV bike, possibly in similar vein to the Yamaha T700. It's suggested the engine could be derived from the NC750X's, but re tuned for more power.
After putting 30,000 miles on my 2012 NC, I traded it in for a...
Just finished up a set of TKC80 front and a 150/70 17" Heidenau k60 Scout rear. Loved the TKC80. Super mixed on the K60. Worst aspect, as Beemerphile mentions, is their wet performance. Had a couple of butt clinchers on wet roads, more than I'd really like to experience again. Cant beat their...
Nice setup! I just finally wore out my TKC80 front and K60 Scout rear. Loved the front but the K60 really wasn't great in the wet. Was slippery way too often. Only good thing was they wore completely evenly, almost 10k miles. This time i picked up both TKC80s. Next time Ill try that 805 on the...
Ah this would make sense. Yep, its definitely tipped over off pavement a couple times. And I do have some fun bringing it to redline almost once a commute. I suppose i shouldn't really have much to worry about if my oil level is otherwise normal. I'll check the tube itself out tomorrow. Thanks...
So I went to replace my air filter today with a new K&N filter. After disassembling everything and getting to the air box, I noticed what first looked to me like water puddled up at the bottom of it. I thought that was very odd, since the box is sealed except for the actual intake itself, so I...
Thats not a bad idea either. I have to show the picture of the cover. It would be waterproof if i sealed it back on, but the plastic button is missing. Would just be a rubber cover over it, which might be a little hard to press with a gloved hand
Thanks for your reply! Believe it or not, I lost the hazard button last summer, well before the covers were installed. I still have the cover for the grip's button, so i'm thinking of trying to find something somewhat similar in shape to the old button and sticking it under the cover and then...
Hi all. So, apparently the on-grip power button cover fell off my Honda heated grips. It still works, turns on and off, but the circuit board that has the button on it is now exposed and basically just dangling by wires. It has mostly been ok because I have oxford covers over the grips for the...
Thats too funny. I liked his S10, but its a BIG bike. He almost lost it on the trail, that would not have been fun to pick up. Not to mention all that weight coming down on you.
How do you like that Corbin seat? I've been thinking about one, especially with the heater, but they have so many...
Hey, any updates? I see they have a picture of their skid plate and a price (which is good in my opinion) on their site now. Looks really sleek and pretty form fitting. Doubt I'll have issues cornering with this. Totally think i might have to go for it!
Rode up to Twisted Throttle in RI, found some trails to have fun on nearby with a buddy on his Super Tenere. Lots of fun but we chickened out and turned around when rocks started turning into boulders! Dale's skid plate definitely came in handy here
So awesome to finally see more info on this! I mean i love my NC to death and the last 13,000 miles with it have been awesome, but this is probably the bike that I would have bought from the beginning if it were available!
Thats awesome!! Is your bike going to be traveling with them? I always go to the one in NYC in December. Would be awesome to see your bike there! And you if you're going with them.
I've thought about trading in my NC for an F800GS Adventure one of these days, but I always hear mixed things about BMW as well. It really seems nothing does beat a Honda when it comes to reliability.
Also, my two Honda cars are not exactly new, and have been two superb examples of their...
I'd like to get some longer travel suspension on my NC. At the very least, I'd want more clearance. I was going to order the Billski 2" fork extensions for the Honda Magna that apparently fit, but the company seems to have gone out of business!
From what I've read, it sounds like a dream. All...
