The only BMW engines using an ionic current knock system are the S85 (E6x M5/M6) and S65 (E9x M3). The S1000RR engine uses typical peizo knock sensors. I have not heard of a motorcycle using an ionic current knock system, probably due to cost as special ignition coils are required.
