I need to stay off the internet looking at motorcycles. Dude on adv rider has a sick 2016 manual w/low miles and hard panniers. He's asking ten and some change. It's the red one... which is strange, I'm not a red guy... ever... but that bike is sick and I want it.
Foolish ideas going through...
Two summers ago for vacation, my wife and I flew from Detroit to Seattle. We stayed there 2 nights, then rented a car and drove down the coast, ultimately ending in (and flying back from) San Francisco. We took 101 and 1 all the way down. Simply unreal scenery.
Make sure you take it easy on...
Wow, that's really weird. The past couple days I've been thinking if mine doesn't sell, I'd paint the silvers green. I was going to go with an OD green, possibly a matte finish, but green nevertheless.
Very cool man!
Stability wise, probably okay, but comfort wise for any distance, not so much. If I was buying a bike knowing that a large percentage of its use would be 2up, I wouldn't recommend the NC. It's just not a 2up type bike.
With a larger windshield, it's great on the freeways. I've done hundreds of miles at 80 mph + in gusty winds across the plains and the NC did it like a champ, ripping past semi's at WOT. I'm completely comfortable on the NC at freeway speeds. It's totally capable for extended freeway travel in...
Welcome fellow Michigander! Looks like you've got a nice set up there. But not sure if you're asking about your seat and/or any other needed mods.
Looks like you've got the full Honda luggage set, center stand, and a larger windshield. The only other thing that comes to mind is a 12v/USB...
Since the Mitas E-07 isn't available in a size for the NC's front (sadly), what are everyone's thoughts on going with the Mitas E-07 on the rear with a Shinko 705 on the front?
I know some folks run the Mitas E-07 on the rear with a Shinko 805 or TCK80 up front, but I'm thinking the 705 would...
You only really need to lube it every 500 miles, especially if you're on the freeway all day, but cleaning is not necessary. Just make sure you have some chain lube or gear oil, or whatever goop you prefer but, like I said, you do not have to clean it this often. But don't leave home without...
I've found that nothing gets my enthusiasm about riding as a long distance road trip. It's crazy. As soon as I get home, all I want to do is start planning the next trip, adding farkels I just realized I'd like, figuring out a new destination to conquer on 2 wheels.
