Dealer service department states it has worn uneven. All I know about motorcycles is where the clutch and throttle are and where to sit and hold on. lol
I brought it in thinking the chain was loose or worn. The dealer stated that the sprocket wore uneven and was out of round. How, why, what...
My 1997 Buell S1 Lightning 1203cc.
Boy she was fun when she started. I bought it from the dealer used with under 1k on it. I replaced everything on the bike by 6000 miles then filed bankruptcy lol
But man doing a wheelie at 75 MPH when it started...those were the younger days...
I am certain...
From what the service department explained.
The sprocket did not wear evenly and is now not round. Not that is was mounted off center. It appears the teeth have worn uneven. Am I making sense? That was how the service guy explained it to me.
The dealer knows I oiled the chain.
I understand...
Well I took the bike to the dealer. The dealer inspected the sprocket and confirmed the sprocket is OUT OF ROUND. They then spoke to the Honda Rep who denied my claim. I then called Honda North America to appeal my claim.
Their stance is that that dealer has no record of me purchasing chain...
Well not long after my 10k mileage picture I started hearing a weird noise. I would hurt myself and others if I try working on a bike so I took it in to the dealer. I am at 10,4xx miles. Dealer is telling me my chain and sprocket need to be replaced.
Then I find this post...
