How do you raise the bike?

I've seen people play around with the rear shock setup to lower the bike as they are short riders. Can the opposite be done where the shock is lifted for a tall rider? What exactly is done? I know there's a spring which can be setup for load. Is that where the height adjustment is also done?

I found this problem with my newly acquired 2015 750X DCT. When on the throttle in the higher gears there's shudder from the engine area. Anyone else have this problem? i saw some people say it's the nature of the auto gearbox it changes to 6th too soon before the revs pick up.
