Thanks for all the feedback! @Brillot2000, I'm returning to riding after a very long break. I'm 54, got my license at 18 and rode for a few years. I sold my last 2 bikes, a '72 Norton Roadster Combat and a '78 DR370, 30 years ago. I've ridden friends' bike very occasionally over the years. I/we...
Wondering if anyone can recommend a retailer in the LA area for helmet, gloves, jacket, pants etc? I know Chaparral is out in San Bernardino. Is there anything closer with good selection and prices?
Thanks

I'm hoping to be buying a bike soon. Odds are it'll be an hour + from home and I'm wondering about getting it home. I see cheap ($100) hitch carriers with a 500 lb rating available. Anyone have experience with these?
Thanks
K
Thanks for the excellent feedback! It's price that has brought me back around to looking at the NC but I think it's the better bike for me anyway.
It's been 30 years since I've owned a bike. Last two were a Norton Commando and a DR370. Hoping to have a new ride to post photos of in the coming...
Can I ask why you gave up your v-strom (and was it the 1000 or the wee)?. I'm looking to get back on a bike after decades. I've been a bit obsessed over the idea of a wee but realize now I can save some cash on a NC700. The only thing that throws me is the discussion of the rev limiter.
