I have always thought the standard box-section swingarm and chain adjustment system on my NC700 looks rather "cheap and agricultural".
I read in a British article that fitting the cast aluminium swingarm from the Honda 700 Integra is a straight fit along with the axle bolts, allowing the fixing...
Greetings. I know this is a "late" response and you have probably solved your problem, but maybe another pointer. About 1 1/2 years ago my 2012 700X did the same...switch on and ignition went dead. After some trial & error I deduced the problem was the ignition steering lock causing a wiring...
See my "story" under Technical : Engine management warning light. After all the advice, technical input received and discovering multiple issues, I FINALLY discovered an issue with the ignition switch/HISS system. Since I have stopped engaging the steering lock I have experienced no MIL or...
If this matter has been sorted I'd like to know. I had my own experience a few weeks ago:
Unlocked steering lock-ignition on-all lights good-hit start button & lights fade with no engagement of starter. Bike dead. I eventually did a push-start after 15 minutes and managed to get home (20kms)...
Hi all
The bank angle sensor appears to have been the cause for the engine cut-out, but the intermittent MIL communication error code 86 is still a question, although since the bank angle fix the MIL has not appeared. My suspicion has now moved to the ignition switch / HISS? A week ago, after a...
I bought the bike in 2015 at 5000 kms.....now 37700 kms. No accident or repair history divulged or apparent except for slight paint discoloration on top of tappet cover, which could be brake fluid damage. The bike was immaculate, even parked on a carpet. Of course this could have been part of...
You could be on track about the power to the CM via the ignition switch. When chatting to the workshop manager I recall him saying the HSSS /ignition switch is known to give problems too.
I have now acquired the comprehensive service manual and will try to understand the system better. At no stage have I got a 54-1 or 2 MIL so it appears the bank angle sensor did its job. I do not yet have full confidence in the bike yet in spite of about 50 kms riding so far. I do not know what...
Well....I'm hoping it is fixed. So far two 50km rides have been trouble free. I now know code 86 refers to a "communication error" and I'm not knowledgeable enough to know exactly how this particular sensor problem could relate to the error code....if at all. It is possible the technician...
Problem solved. Sent the bike in to a local friendly bike shop (not Honda agent) for a diagnostic check to try and isolate the fault. On stripping they found the bank angle sensor was loose and "hanging" at an angle. One bolt was missing and the other loose. Remounting the sensor has eliminated...
Hi all, many thanks for your input. I have checked the battery condition, terminals and the combination meter terminal block and found no problem. I cleaned the terminals as best I could but the problem persists. Last night I had the combination meter start flickering after about 20 kms (no MIL...
2012 NC700X (37500kms): My engine management warning light has started coming on intermittently with no noticeable change in engine performance. Switching ignition off cancels the indicator but it comes on again after a few minutes. Trying to link it to an event/action proves fruitless, but I...
