I’ve ridden bikes with skinny tires and wide sport bike tires. If you’re not looking for maximum traction, just everyday routine lean angles then it doesn’t matter much about a difference of 11 mm, and it doesn’t matter much whether your tires are skinny or wide.

On the other hand if you’re on a race track at maximum lean angle, then 11 mm. is a large amount of tire tread not to have. Interesting video.
