I like great tires. I like great gloves and armored riding gear, and farkles that improve my experiences. I love the feel of riding well executed. But what gets me out there still is seeing the sights... primarily natural landscapes and their inhabitants. Just got around to looking at some collected sights I had forgotten.

As long as I can see, I like wet-day riding. The WR250R is an incredible dualsport. Well-designed, as potent as a no-upkeep 250 can be. Hope someday Yamaha does a WR450R with similar tuning. For me that would probably be about as close to a unicorn as anything else.

Wow, beautiful area! I would love to tour through the mountains like that!
Yeah, I have a lot of variety in my day-or-two riding radius. Any 200 to 400 miles day is good for riding variety and visual diversity. Lots of mountain ranges, Glacial Lake Missoula stuff, the Rocky Mountain Front, which these next ones are..

Lots of great photos, @greenboy! I hope to visit Montana and enjoy the beauty in late June if the BMW MOA annual national rally in Great Falls continues to avoid cancellation. :cross fingers:

Waiting to see the thermometer hit 32F after a 16° early morning, knowing that it's likely to go from totally sunny to a cloudy 40F high. Still want to ride though. Somehow looking at an image from an expansively warmer day made me forget that any ride today would not in any form be that way. Nevertheless, one can dream...

I noticed as I was putting in an air filter, and later again when I decided to get my frunk latch/lock working if possible, that Honda engineers missed a few opportunities to put more nooks and crannies in to scoop up insects and dirt. Also it seemed that there were a few places where they could have introduced connectors with different head types and sizes, sizes they had missed, so that a person could feel that a lot more of their tools were being put to good use. It seems their attempts were half-hearted – enough so that I really can't boast about the immensity of my tool roll compared to a tool cache for an armored troop carrier or whatever. What gives, Honda?!?

Finally got to ride my WR250R up into some higher country today. Had to get through numerous 6"-12" snow runs on north-facing slopes, soft mushy slush with ice underneath. A couple times I had to get off the bike and throttle though inclines on curves to make it without sliding sideways over the steep long drop-offs. Road-biking really makes one forget what exertion the real deal can be – great fun! Bagged some pics though! Here's one.

Wayback machine, July 2016:

Bootsy wanted to go out for a spin on my new ride the moment I brought it home. I told him no, because he doesn't watch for oncoming vehicles and tends to scratch up upholstery. Maybe he needs to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation beginner course and get some leather riding mitts.

Agree. Went through my HD phase. Guess everyone thinks about it. Some do it. Got that out of my system. Won’t be going back. Would like to have those bucks back. The value just isn’t there..
Cruisers got me into motorcycles. I would have gotten a Harley if they were available at the ground floor. And a shaft drive would be good. Also, I don't like fractions. It's gotta be metric.

So I got a Suzuki. I've had people ask if it was a Hogg so... I guess I get to enjoy both worlds....

NC can get me up to the trailhead, and a large topcase allows me to strip off the helmet and protective wear and lock 'em away out of view from casual theft, but de feets got to get movin' to see the sights beyond:
