So went for a nice ride in the Canadian Shield and almost ran out of gas. My question is what does this gauge mean. It seems to fluctuate. First it was at 31.1 and continued to climb higher. Then I stopped for lunch and it reset to 0.0 then I finally found a gas station and it went to 3.0??? Not sure what is going on. Any help is much appreciated. I normally don’t use the trip meter or this gauge but thought I would inquire. I have a 2014 NC750X. It’s the one reading 3.5 68A23507-CC2B-45BC-B8FF-F3D8F2F92B54.jpegL

It looks like the fuel used, but if it's fluctuating around maybe not. It shouldn't reset itself either. On my 2016 updated dash model you have two trip recorders (A and B) and both will count litres used until you manually reset them.

I was wondering if it might be that but when it was over 30 with only a 14 litre tank and then like you said reset itself left me wondering??? Thank you for your reply

So upon further review I now notice that both A and B trip meters rolled over and now read107.6 Km so I’m thinking that liters used must have reset when I drove past 999 Km and both trip meters went back to 0. Now reads 107.6 km on trip A and trip B and 3.5 litres used. That sounds about right.

On my 2021, the A meter will automatically reset when you top off, however you can turn that off, which I did, because I use A for daily mileage and B for miles on the tank after fill up, so A gets zeroed each morning, and B gets zeroed everytime I fill up. I have used that system for years on multiple bikes.

Thanks Ferret. I may start using it for the odd trip but as I only use my bike for fun I was just more curious than anything.
