Lighting is also a performance enhancement. As long as people can see you better at night. The fuel cell is a great place for a light strip.

You can power a phone, charge a camera, power LED lights and still do endurance ADV riding.

So far, so good.

Stage 2 lighting. Controlled by a bar switch. Tied into running lights.

Keep the lights high up. This is a dirt trail bike. You only need 4 strip lights total. Two under the seat. Two in the intakes.

Here is my latest video. Now you get to see what I do all day. Practice practice practice. Screw up, and do it again.

Now you get to see why my windshield is soft and flexible high up. It is so I can crash and not break it. It is also why I wrap my crash bars. ...So they can hit the engine when then bend in.


I am using a cheap flexible crash bar knowing one day I will have to sit on my bum and pull it back out with my foot against the foot peg. The bar actually slowed the fall of the bike and folded over.

Yes, everything is perfectly fine. I am okay. I am ready for more.

If you have a lot of accessories and you’re crashing a lot or potentially crashing a lot then you need the absolute best wiring possible. Don’t skimp on this because if you have a fault somewhere in the system you won’t figure out where it happened. Yeah. This is what it should look like. Like a Honda civic dashboard. Underneath.

And now for a little something to help you improve your personal performance. Up-armor your pants with sheet rubber. If Joe Rocket can do it, so can you. Fold it for extra thickness. Or cut layers and spray glue them.

Today I lost power to the phone, lights and glow, and I thought I had an electrical fault. There was too much crap in my trunk. Heavy items. Something caught the heavy duty metal self-destruct switch and flipped it. Wow. I spent 10 minutes opening the battery box on the road. Stupid me. All I had to do was throw the metal switch over again. I need to get a switch cover for that. And tape it down. Maybe a foot powder spray can lid or something like that.

I noticed YouTube is showing my videos in higher clarity now. yay!!!

When you think you have your suspension tuned right, go out and do video analysis. Use your old cheap cameras. Find an old dirt road. Enjoy your old bike. Don’t throw away that 5 year old camera.

Use Imovie to replay your drive-bys in slo-mo. Even if your camera has no slo-mo. Use imovie stabilization. Add titles. Then post as I do. Easy peasy.

Checking the footage for my first autumn color change ride. Colors don’t change like they do north of the Mason Dixon Line. Texas goes from green to yellow to brown. Snap. Like that. No bright red leaves. No deep reddish purple. Just brown. There is a different magic down here in Texas.

Here is one of the videos from the playlist. I will keep adding videos. I did one fork tune with forks off. I did an oil level removal with the forks on. Wow. So much better performance!! Oil is messy. Whatever you do, keep it off the ceiling.
