Hi all. New member from outside Atlanta. Started out with a mini trail 50 years ago and currently have a CRF250L I bought about a year ago after being off two wheels for almost 30 years. Earlier this month I picked up the NC and currently getting its break in service done along with a few accessories like center stand and power outlet.

So far all I've done to it is wrap the painted surfaces with paint protection film and added a bit of reflective tape to the nose. One question I have is what that protrusion is on the side fairing is for. I figured it was for flush mounted turn signals at one point but don't have any other ideas on its purpose.

Kit it out the way you like it. It's your ride, so don't let any of us tell you anything other than our opinions.

Personally I think they are great bikes. We have 2 of them (wife also rides).

Glad to have you join the group.

Thanks. Have a Corbin seat due in Thursday. Was going to get one anyway but did read your thread on it before I ordered it. I used to road race back in the 80s and quit riding all together once I finished college and had to put food on the table. Started back with the dual sport just to get muscle memory back and then bought a CBR500 but traded it on the NC.

Awesome vintage road race pic! I do trackdays on my NC, they handle great! Welcome, from northeast AL.

Also, do you have a better pic of the protrusion you question? Not 100% sure what you are talking about in the pic.

Welcome to the forum! I live right up the road in Canton, if you ever need a hand or a tool.
Ride Safe!

Might not be too far up the road, we are just south of little river marina.
I am at exit 20, off of 575. I have a 2013 NC700X, and '06 ST1300. I love the NC for it's mileage, light weight, and coolness in the summer heat, but the ST is just SO smooth and easy to ride!
If you ever need a hand with something, let me know. I've had my NC apart a few times- added farkles, did a valve adjust, brake fluid change, etc.

Thanks!, I may take you up on that when I get to adding some lights. I'm an analog type so I can do the hardware stuff but any electronics above plug and play add gray hair and money in the cuss jar.

New member from outside Atlanta. CRF250L
Welcome aboard.
I lived in ATL 25 years working @ Hartsfield Intl commuting 365 days a year on a CB900F and PC800 25 miles back into Cobb county.
Also had a CRF230L, ST1300A, K75 and F800ST in Atl.
Retired back to WV in 2012 and bought a CRF250L. Sold both bikes to same person. The 250 was an upgrade from the 230 for him. I ran street tire on both bikes. Small world. Enjoy the NC in north GA, NC and TN mountains.

I grew up in Cobb, my first street bike was an 82 750 Sabre (wish I still had that one!). Many trips to Daytona on that thing. Also had XR 185, an XR200, 600 Ninja and 600 Hurricane.

Was born In Indianapolis, moved away when I was 10. I do miss Brown County Apple Butter
