Unfortunately, not too many riders will pony up $12,000-$13,000 for a max scooter...even Suzuki stopped selling the Burgman(sp?) 650...
I believe that the Burg650 electronic transmission failures had a lot to do with it's demise.

It had a motorcycle style wet clutch and the scooter (CVT) variable ratio belt drive with a servo motor that changed gear ratio's. The repair required extensive disassembly and cost something like $2,500. It occurred at around 30,000 miles. Most scooters owners don't drive that much and they don't see that kind of mileage for a number of years.

The tranny problems are why I opted for a Honda Silverwing. The Swing had the conventional CVT which was a more dated technology and the mileage wasn't the greatest but it was nearly bulletproof.
