The Austrians have refreshed their turnkey SuperMoto machine, the 450 SMR, in advance of the 2024 season.
This is the same bike that shot Lukas Höllbacher to the 2022 AMA Supermoto title, where he purportedly “fought until the last moments for the FIM World Championship.”
It’ll be the 2024 SMR under the lad’s caboose this year, so let’s get into the recent press release deets and see what KTM gave us for the new season, shall we?

According to KTM, the 2024 450 SMR now shows off an engine that can go for longer periods between servicing intervals, with bright, in-mold bodywork dressing the lightweight, 450cc, SOHC heart of 27kg.
The engine is placed inside a hydroformed chassis, with KTM repositioning the heart for centralization and precise handling.

The hollow, aluminum swingarm, NEKEN aluminum handlebar and CNC machined triple clamps also keep all aspects of the bike in easy-going harmony, while suspension is gifted via top-tier WP XACT fork with AER technology at the front and an XACT shock at the rear – all singing to the tune of quick-access click adjusters to make track tuning as simple as possible.

Brembo’s 4-piston radially mounted calipers (310mm front and 220mm rear) conclude the foundation of KTM’s new 2024 450 SMR, with a further list of goodies below:
