Is welding rear brake pedal an option?

After installing lowering pegs both the shifter and the rear brake pedal are too short and also too close to the bike / I need them bent outwards for easier access.
It's tolerable but I'd like to address it if I can.

Is it straightforward to weld on an extension to both levers? Or is there any reason not to muck about with welding the levers?

In my opinion, that modification would be very easy. Although it would be a little less stressful on a spare set in case you screw up...

My only concern would be having more metal there that could enter your engine case if the bike tipped over.

It seems a pretty safe mod to me, I'll see if anyone local to me wants the gig and get their opinion
