Hello, Bass Bob checking in. I've read a few posts about lowering my bike. Got the Soupy's link kit.
Not sure I'm measuring correctly, but figured center to center would do the trick.
With the kit, center to center is 5.89". Stock link center to center is 5.42", which means
.47" lower? A) Am I close? B) If my measurements are correct, how much further can I go before
the center/side stands need modifications? Thanks in advance!

We did a "trial & error" sort of thing with my wife's bike. The longer the link, the lower the bike. Just messed around with it until it fit her best. Honestly I can't help you based on measurements, I never bothered to put a ruler to it.

And yes, we did end up cutting and welding back together the side stand.

TacomaJD,
Saw a post you and another NC pilot posted regarding center stands. A piece of wood. Who'd of thunk it?!
Well not me. But the reasoning just makes sense. After all, the only time the bike's on the center stand is for
storage/maintenance. A piece of wood is simple, easy!
Just ordered a Soupy's adjustable side stand. Gonna crank down the links a little bit more. May also
"drop" the forks a 'smighe too..
Thanks!

Well I bought the Lust 40mm lowering links over a year ago and have had my NC for three years now. I have gone back and forth with the idea so many times now but I just can not bring myself to do it. If you search some threads here there are many varying opinions. I also have a 29 inch inseam so I do not have too much trouble but have to be careful when coming to a stop when the road is sloping heavily away . With the installation package that came with my links they suggested the 40mm links on the back and only 15mm on the front forks. If you lower the front an equal amount you risk grounding out your front end. That was my deciding factor as I wanted to lower both front and back the same amount. With that not possible it was going to change the steering of the bike. I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Make a list of pros and cons and then decide.

Here are the instructions provided but I found a lot more information on previous threads and fellow NC riders have so much knowledge
