Engine swap

Evening all. I have a 2016 X with main bearings gone. Past experience leads me to buying a low mileage replacement engine from that auction site.

Question is, will a ‘16 S engine fit an X frame, and connect up without issues?

Based on the shop manual I own 2018 750x, the engines should be the same. Honda uses similar engines in many different models. Though I’ve never tried this.

Why did the bearings fail? How many miles on the engine?

hi JT, me too, no idea… oil good, coolant good, 78000 miles. I’m assuming mains have gone, she’ll turn over with a socket on the crank, plugs out, lumpily. Not smooth. Starter motor just makes a shrieking sound.
