Does anyone happen to know if the rear rack from a nc750x will fit on the nc700x? Thanks.

I have both body styles of NC700's, a 2013 and a 2016 model. Both have the oem rear racks. The 2016 is the new body style like the 750's. I can tell you that the racks are made very differently, but unsure if it's just cosmetics or the mounting points are actually different. I can look at both more closely when I get time to see what I can figure out. The newer model rear rack certainly looks much better than the older style.

Thank you very much!
Best I can tell, not only will it work, but the newer rack should be easier to install, as it is one piece instead of separate grab rails then the center platform bolted to them. And of course, most importantly, look much better. All the mounting points look the same and I don't see where the new one would have any clearance issues on the old bike. So, I'd say you're probably good to go. Boatload of pics to come....

These close up pics are from the 2016 NC700X rear rack. (Newer one)20210622_162552.jpg

And pics of the old one I installed on the 2013 NC700X. In the last pic, you can see how the old style bolts together as 3 main pieces. And there are 4 main bolts under the seat holding the grab rails on. Notice on the old rack, there are 3 bolt covers (black circles) and I lost the 4th one. The newer bike doesn't have the bolt covers. Just noting that so you know what you are looking at in the pics.

Thanks everyone. I installed the 750 rack on my 2013 700 and it fits perfectly, even though I was initially convinced it wouldn't since the part closest to the front seat looked different.

Now, anyone know how to reattach the rear seat prop? ;)

Carefully...I dropped the little washer down in the bike and never found it when I was doing mine. Found a larger washer in the shop and used it, doesn't seem to work as well as it did before, but at least it still works Lol.

What problem are you having? The manual says "the installation is in the reverse order of removal"

You can find it on page 2-5 of the service manual

Okay I looked at that but it seems to address the hinge vs the seat stay. I lost a washer down the plastic on the side. There doesn't seem to be a way to get the inside washer and clip on with the rear rack fully installed.

I just did this job last night because I removed and replaced the passenger seat. Everyone loses some small part doing some job like this then we learn to place a towel over the nooks and crannies that small parts tend to fall into. I’m a slow leaner. One time I lost the tiny clip down under the gas tank, another time the spring. Last night I covered the entire area with a towel.

I installed the 3 nuts hand tight that hold the hinge to the seat then held the seat up with one hand while I inserted the prop into the hinge. I held the prop in place with one hand then squeezed the spring in place and held it with my thumb then slid the washer in place and slipped it under my thumb. With the washer holding the spring there was room to insert the clip with my free hand.

Hi, thanks for the response. I didn't remove the seat, just the prop part. I installed the new rack and now can't reach behind the Tupperware and rack to get the last washer and pin in. Today I'll try taking the rack out or at least loosening it to see if I can get the washer and pin back in, then tighten the rack bolts. Tricky.
