Day 1 ... woke up to rain/snow mix. That only lasted till 10 AM then just became overcast....headed out at 2 PM on damp roads for 43 miles @ 34 degrees and overcast with a few light snow flurries

Went with a couple friends on a NYD RTE yesterday through Tellico Plains TN and Copperhill. We did about 160 miles and topped out at 42 degrees. Chilly day but overall not terrible.

A local 'club' showed up at the restaurant with about 12 members and we also saw a mostly Harley group out with about 80-100 riders.

Day 2 .... a pleasant sunny but cool day... stopped up at my local shop and ordered another set on Michelin Road 5s for Angry Bird... gads the price of tires shocks me...anyhow 39 miles @ 38 degrees

Day 3... snowed overnight maybe 3/4" but it only stuck to the grass and didn't stick to the roads. Temps predicted to drop all day so rode early which was a mistake since the roads were not just damp, but wet...should have waited a few hours for the roads to dry even if the temp would be colder. Now my bike is a mess....I mean more than usual lol. They also salted last night so had to ride around piles of salt at intersections and on hills. Anyhow 35 miles @ 30 degrees on wet roads

As I turn 75 in a few months, my New Years Resolution was to ride less under "iffy" conditions this year, and here I broke it on the 3rd day of the year lol. So much for resolutions .....

Day 4 .... a brisk 26 degrees and sunny for today's 31-mile loop. We could get 6-10" of snow/ice tomorrow into Monday... ugh....in which case I'll be riding the quad with snow blade lol...but may be able to squeeze in a Sunday morning ride in before the storm arrives tomorrow, will just have to see what it's like when I wake up.

Day 5 .... woke up and it wasn't snowing so got dressed and on the road by 8:45....rode the Water Works loop which is mostly straight and flat in case the weather turned sour. Got in 40 miles @ 22 degrees and cloudy. Started snowing hard 10 minutes after I got home. I'd say it'll be a day or 7 before I am able to get out again if the weather forecasters are right lol

Edit: what it looks like at 3 PM and still coming down hard lol. Supposed to stop snowing by 2 PM tomorrow

All the snow is gone, roads are dry and relatively salt free. The high temperature today was 28. I did my weekly Polar Bear ride. Tailwind on the way out, gusty quartering wind on the way back. The bike was swaying a bit. A total of 95 chilly miles for the day.

My company is enforcing 5 days return to office (RTO5) this year so packing the miles on the NC. About 80 miles a day.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the DCT is a huge help while lane splitting in variable speed traffic!

Temporarily slapped on the saddle bag racks and bags to pick up some groceries on the way back home.

We got 11" of snow Monday/Tuesday which basically crippled the city, and are supposed to get another 3-5" this afternoon (they still don't have some streets cleared from the Mon/Tue storm). For the last 5 days I've had to walk past my NC to get to my quad with snow blade. Haven't ridden since Sunday 😟

Day 6 ..... woohoo after being trapped for 6 days by 15" of snow, I finally got the driveway cleared and got out for a 35-mile ride at 40 degrees and partly sunny. Man, it felt good to ride again.

Sunday I rode this week's Polar Bear ride. Clear roads and blue sky. Temperature at departure was in the upper 20s warming to 36 degrees. It felt warmer with the sun on the back of my black leather jacket. Took an alternate route home and went through Valley Forge National Park. Lots of people out walking the trails in the park. 66 total miles for the day.

No riding today. Went out this morning in the car and saw lots of yesterday's melted snow water running across the roads that had re-frozen into sheets of ice. Just too risky to ride in those conditions. We are under another winter weather advisory this evening. High winds with windchills tonight down to -15 and not getting out of single digits tomorrow morning.

Weird year in that buddies in Tenn and Texas have complained about 7-11" of snow, while one in northern Ill and another in central Wi havent had any.
