Cleaned and re-oiled the chain, then a lovey 50-mile ride here in mid-Missouri. Suicidal bugs are rarer now, though I do think that a tiny spider hitched a ride (inside my helmet) from home to the point where I opened the faceshield at 60 mph, and said goodbye.

While the Ferret and some of you others were racking up miles I was dealing with a nail in the rear tire of my other bike. Then I did get to go for a ride after.

Took Wiley to a friend's house for an impromptu get-together with some other friends for tacos. He's close by, but it was nice to take Wiley out in the dark (I love the PIAA driving lights I have on it) for a little run-around. I had tried to sell this bike, but I've quit trying now, and I guess I will keep it indefinitely. It's so much lighter than the K, but it's fun and agile-ish, and sips fuel such that it's hard to see the 'profit' in selling it, no matter how much I hate chain drives these days.

Day 280.... another chilly start but turned into a nice day. Sunday usually means Airport Loop for me so that's what I rode mid-morning. 51 miles @ 68 degrees and sunny.

Day 281.. up and out early this morning... looked like it might rain, but it wasn't in the forecast, and didn't...41 miles @ 62 degrees and very cloudy

Thats kind of cool, where did you get that? Does it have a "floor" to keep the critters out?
I got it on eBay, yes it has a floor to which the top part zips up to, the zipper is YKK so you know it's quality. Includes a spare fan and power supply. Nothing can get in. It's a very nice quality product, very thick material and looks like it'll last. Another positive is that it's not made in China, I believe it's made in Indonesia or Malaysia, can remember exactly.
They sell the 2 versions, a clear (for indoors) and the grey one (for outdoors). I bought mine on sale for $295. Check the link below.

Morning commute in a proper West Coast downpour. I did the Nikwax washing machine clean and waterproofing treatment for suit and gloves. Worked very well in case there are any other silly gooses that ride in the rain.
Hello to a fellow rainforest rider! I ride year round, and look like a storm trooper between ATGATT and the necessity of bundling up against the perpetual 45 degree rain. We have now entered the second time of year: rain. The other being: no rain. This time is much longer than that other time.

Does the waterproofing keep out water that pools in your lap as well? I have a set of frogg toggs but making my suit waterproof would be more convenient

That I can't say for sure.

I am using an Aerostich R3 which is supposed to be made from Gore-Tex. I was having some water penetration around the seams. I have never washed it or treated since new. In the user guide the recommendations was to use Nikwax products to refresh the waterproofing. It worked perfectly in my situation.

For your situation, I don't know if your existing suit is waterproof or not. Below is the kit I used and purchased A serving is about 1/3 the bottle. One wash treatment to clean the fibres and one waterproofing right after. I followed the Nikwax instruction in the washing machine. If I recall correctly...clean the soap dispenser, cold water, and add an extra rinse cycle.

I did a fly in during the Winter to get it. I did a stop over on my way to Charlotte. The suit was too big to fit in my carry on so I just wore it on the plane. It was ice fishing time in Duluth, MN. At the airport I got some looks. I think they thought I was in my snowmobile or ice fishing suit.

When I got to the Charlotte rental car counter I was complimented on the suit...she thought I was just being stylish...the eye of the beholder

Pulled all the broken plastic parts off the NC700XD and blk plastic weld arrived, think I'll patch it together for now and see if I can find replacement parts over the winter

I like having a tank bag, mostly just for small things I like to have quick access to. The Frunk is great, but here is my way of adding a tank bag to the NC without magnets or long straps. I bought the Tusk tank bag, and then a set of 4 "clips" to hook around the Frunk lid. Took a tiny bit of sewing and finagling the straps etc. but I think it turned out pretty good and convenient to remove (think hotel rooms etc.).
Does not interfere with opening or closing of the Frunk either.
