The XMAX seems like a great machine.
Yes, it's a very capable scooter, powerful enough for freeway work as long as you stay close to the speed limit lol. Perfect for the 45-55 mph backroads we ride.

are the Rustic Roads all lane and a halfs with no centerline?

Not all of them, one happens to be about 3 blocks from my house and goes through my little village. I guess its been there for a long long time, but it has been converted to a normal street in the village and part of the park with centerlines.

Many of them though are as you indicated, small single lane or barely wider and quite a few are gravel or not maintained like state highways. Many farms or homes off of these old roads or lanes.

Day 253 ... a 50 miler @ a nippy 64 degrees ... 20 degrees cooler than yesterday at this time thanks to a cold front that just came in. At least it was sunny.

Rerouted the brake and parking brake cable behind the top triple clamp to accommodate 2" Rox Risers. This extra clearance lets me clear my upside down side deflectors and makes the ride that much more comfortable!

@milesprwr I need to reroute my parking brake cable on my 21, I checked a parts diagram but it wasn't very clear on how to remove the cable from the handle. Was it fairly simple? Seems like I could just remove the 2 screws in on the back side of the mirror mount but I'm worried there will be an explosion of springs/parts when I do that :)

Went on a relaxed trip this past Sunday around northern Virginia's suburbs along with the Small Bore Corps of the D.C./MD/VA metropolitan area. The bikes were comprised of a bunch of noisy vintage Vespas and Lambrettas, a few modern scooters (including two Honda Super Cubs, a superbly-restored Helix, an ADV160 acting as a mid-pack blocker, and a [rare in the USA! 😆] Yamaha TMAX), a classy BMW cafe racer, a sharp-looking CB1100, and myself on the NC.

Is it weird being on a not-scooter bike alongside the smoky 2-stroke folks? Quite the opposite...the SBC DMV folks are wonderfully friendly and open to all forms of 2-wheeled nonsense. Can't wait to do this again with such a great group, and Honda's NC750X continues to show that it's a real winner in terms of low-speed stability and agile handling, making it perfect for mixed rides like this.

@ljurgens - if I recall correctly, it removing the parking brake lever involves unplugging a connector, removal of some cover to access the two bolts and that's about it. In my 2013 NC, there's a metal piece that completes a circuit when the lever is pulled back. That has a tendency to fallout so just note it's orientation before you pull the assembly off the bars.

Day 254... a 43 mile country curvy roads ride @ 69 degrees and sunny

and turned over another K mileage milestone on my 21 DCT

My nephew has a large Yamaha T-Max Scooter, but I prefer the weight distribution of a motorcycle. Tried using the manual switches to change gear for the first time yesterday on my NC750 DCT. I was amazed how smooth the changes were and how it gives the bike more usability. Amazing machine!

Got back on the NC750X for the first time after an eight day trip up to the western Finger Lakes area in NY on the Can Am. Immediately used the thumb shifter and inadvertently down shifted. On the Can Am the thumb is used to upshift. Doh! Tucked my thumb under my fingers after that. Went for a longish ride into the hills northwest of Allentown and was underdressed. A chilly ride for the day. 197 miles and saw the odometer roll past 32,000 miles.

Day 255 ... a 48 mile ride working out a new loop to include a couple different road combos. Unfortunately, they did some patching on one of the downhill curvy roads the last couple of days, and did a terrible job. It's rougher than it was before. Uggghh, thanks a lot ODOT. Maybe the cars will pound it flat in the next couple weeks and the rain will wash away the blacktop slag. Anyhow, 71 degrees and sunny for today's ride.

Day 256 ..Thursday lunch ride with the guys and our usual after lunch ride and stop at the "pink pig" for dessert...93 miles at 69 degrees and sunny

Notice nephew sold his BMW 750 and is now riding his fe501 Husky dual sport. It even has knobby tires lol. He kept up though even on the curvy roads.
