500km round trip to the west of Ireland for a short annual event on the X-Adv.

Weather not great as usual for this event so the scoot was the ideal machine for the trip. However the ride was not helped by picking up a nasty respiratory virus thingy that is around at the moment, and seemed to gain intensity on the outward trip. I took to the bed when I got there. Next morning did not bring relief so a 250km ride home did not appeal. Interestingly, while making the effort to ride as well as I could, coupled with the urgency to get home asap, my mind was kept occupied to somewhat keep it off the miserable symptoms that were evident.

Wheather in Slovakia is cold now/about 3•C

However if the front tire contacts the nail and causes the nail to flip, roll, spin, etc, there is a chance the nail could briefly be positioned point-up to penetrate the rear tire.
I had a house key puncture my rear tire one time. Front tire had to flip it up.

I had a piece of bone (hopefully from an animal) punch a hole in the rear tire of my ST1300. It was about 3" long and about 3/8" in diameter. Not even particularly pointed or jagged on either end. I was able to plug the hole with three gummy worms and although still leaking about 1 PSI a minute to make it to a shop 15 miles distant. The bone had to be positioned just right to make entry into the tire.

I had a similar experience yesterday.

I did about 300 miles Christmas shopping and some cooler weather moved in on me. That is what I get for going to the cafe for breakfast and getting ideas from my buddies. I should have taken 20 minutes going back to the house and put on some warmer gear.

Day 290 of riding for the year , a 66 miler to a nearby lake. 55 degrees and cloudy. Supposed to rain ALL day tomorrow. May take a day off. We'll see. Only need to ride 10 of the next 35 days to meet my yearly goal of 300 days riding. Then again could make 325 days if the weather gives me a break lol

What?
I have to admire That.

I did 20 miles or so getting my tag pictures in 50°F weather early this morning but the humidity was 79% and I about froze my legs off.
I used to live in Edmond, NE OK was much prettier. You have hills & trees. Best kept secret in OK.:D

You have that right about the best kept secret.

I don't live very far from several roads that people ride out from Tulsa to play on. Spavinaw hill being the main attraction.
