It is beautiful up there.

I was lucky enough to ride Ebbets and Monitor Passes up there a few years ago on my nephews NC 700.

Thinking of doing Carson, monitor and Sonara Passes in the next week or so ,
and I didn't ask the rider on the Tiger , he was just there @ Plasses resort @ Silver Lake on the way home
It was 106 @ my house when I got home around 4
 
With summer coming to an end, my favorite riding weather is returning. Today was 70 degrees F with heavy overcast sky, the kind where it looks like it could mist or rain anytime but it doesn’t - beautiful riding weather for me.

I rode the NC 115 miles, first grabbing the tag for the game, then pursuing less traveled roads, particularly the kind with grass running down the middle as in my photo.

I went out to check on the bike to inspect it. I was thinking about running to the Smokies on Thursday. Found i had a flat tire. I thought maybe 2 weeks sitting pressure may have got low... Put air in it and found a dent in the rim. I remembered last time I rode it I had hit a small deep pot hole (didn't see it)....didn't think much of it..rode for another hour or so with no issue....but it seems air is coming out in the location of the dent....new wheels are $600+.....ouch.... wonder if I can run it with a tube....hmmm.

Well, that's unfortunate.

Search the forum for rim repair. I read that businesses can repair rims. A new NC wheel is very expensive and good used wheels are hard to find.

Planning on trip to Kickstand lodge on Thursday. I was going to take camping supplies on the bike and camp in tent, but bed is available in the bunkhouse, so....be spending Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, head back to Florida on Sunday

Very nice! I will be in that neighborhood, too, but it will be middle of next week. While you’re at Kickstand, try to get feel for what Mo and Bobby are planning for season closing date, and next year’s opening. I sure would like to have an NC get together there again soon.
 
Well the trip to the Smokies became fubar. I got up to 29 miles north of Macon Georgia on US129 and picked up a nail in the front tire which I had repaired with a tube....decided it was not meant to be, fix a flat at 15lbs psi and riding back home at max of 50mph for 8 hours got me back home....now to find out if a wheel from a 2019 nc750x will fit on a 2013 nc700x, as RevZilla and other places are out of stock for 2013.... both have the first part of part number the same 44650...

Knowing that, parhaps we could plan a 2023 Kickstand Lodge, NC rally well in advance for the weekend following Memorial Day.
 
On my way back riding south on Us41, I rode thru Hahira Ga, north of Valdosta, I saw a red nc700/750 parked outside what looked like a restaurant or bar. Anyone on here?
