Seeing the mentions about heat makes me realize that Sunday's ride wasn't bad, after all. Barely (if even!) 60, much colder under the trees in North Idaho. Ended up at the SE side of Spirit Lake. And since I don't think I've shown off the Toaster previously, here she is.

Went on my first real day ride today on my 700X. Foothills Parkway, Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway. For those of you unfamiliar with these places, they are in the Great Smoky Mountain National Parkway and vicinity in Tennessee / North Carolina.

Nothing exciting but had a nice ride. Rode into town, stopped at the UPS store and the True Value. Hit the pool store on the way out of town.

Was wearing the new KLIM Outrider pants today, first ride for this new pair of moto pants. After a few more trials I'll write up a review. Initial impressions are positive. They pretty much have the look and bulk of a pair of Carhartt style work pants.

Headed north and took a long winding scenic route up to the next town, went to the grocery store there and picked up 4 bags of groceries. Loaded everything into the boxes and headed home. 2 hours of riding around. Hot day but the humidity is not horrible, had a nice comfortable ride.

Greenboy makes me want to stop to take photos.

234 miles yesterday, taking my friend around to some places he hadn't seen before. I won't be buying a 1500cc cruiser (or any other type of liter+ cycle) any time soon, though Kawi did make a fine example. NC just handles better, shifts faster which actually gives an edge in acceleration, has all the speed needed, gets way better fuel economy. Both take you on a good voyage though : }

Installing my Wheleen LED tail and brake lights, removed from my previous NC Nancy (RIP). The Whelen LIN3 is the best brake light made. In the process, found out the stock tail/brake light is also LED, no upgrade needed there. But more on the rear is always better, I've been rear ended before.

Headed up into Glacier NP early this morning (brrrr!) hoping Logan Pass would be open and not so many people would be up there yet, Alas, not so. But the rangers let me go beyond the closure at Lake McDonald Lodge since I was on a cycle. Of all the cagers already up past the roadblock, everybody but me and the bicyclists seemed to be clustered in the same few spots. Which left a lot of places that were peaceful. About to head out somewhere else now but here's a couple things I saw:

Yeah. Disposable. Just toss it anywhere. Like you did with your toilet paper and diaper.

Yep. Add face masks to surgical gloves and those plastic tooth floss things tossed on the ground. Some people’s actions are just disgusting.

Went out for a bit Sunday. Left at about 8, returned about 10. Too damn hot already. I had drained my 3L Kreiga once, refilled, and got halfway through it again. And I still ended up with a headache and slight dehydration. And that was with a couple salt tablets on top. for 2 hours.

EVERY TIME I go clean up my front yard, there are tooth floss things in the grass! Seriously. I live on a busy street, and it's the usual of beer cans, cigarette butts, McDonalds wrappers, the occasional sketchy black latex glove, and TOOTH FLOSS.

Our world is becoming a rubbish heap of plastic trash, but at least we have clean teeth I guess... Sigh.
