I put new tires on my Sym HD200 scooter, I don't know why but new tires on anything is always satisfying in some weird way, maybe it's just me. Then I rode my NCX out to the lake over this little old bridge.

I haven't posted much in a while now but I'm happy to say that the lovely Mrs. Modisette is in love with the NC700x. Of my three bikes, it is her favorite to ride and she looks at it with a bit of excitement because she is now enjoying riding with me. She's a little thing at only 110 lbs so she fits the bike and the bike fits her and we can ride comfortably. She's already asking about short overnight trips to the east coast of Florida and about the possibility of towing the bike up to the mountains for a bit of mountain riding. Exciting motorcycling times ahead, for sure.

On my ride back from the moonburger run 9 days ago: (sorry haven't figured out how to post the videos directly in the forum yet)

davidc83, I inserted the video in your post. It's the right most icon in the posting tools that looks like a film strip. Just paste in the URL for the video.

Thanks Dave, got it...

Speaking of moon burgers, I went to Moonshine last weekend and it was stupid crazy busy. The folks that didn't come the week before must have gone last weekend since the weather was much improved. I was hoping to avoid the crowds but it didn't work.

how you like the bike so far??? what is that 1------2--------3-------4 on the screen?

That's the Tach (RPMs)

Yes tachometer. I'm really liking the bike. Yesterday I decided to explore a single lane path with two deep tire ruts (shoulda taken a pic) anyway I decided to turn back as I was scared to drop into one of the ruts. I just find the bike is too heavy for 'off road'. Before deciding on the NC I gave a lot of thought to the Yamaha WR250R and almost went that way, but it just wouldn't do for any kind of distance or highway use.

Would have been great on yesterdays path though.

Getting back to the display, a really nice feature that I have not seen before is the 'count up' low fuel warning. Instead of a light coming on when getting low on fuel the odometer starts counting up 10, 20, 30 so when it gets to 80 or so you know you are 'running on fumes.' I say when it get's to 80 (80 km since reserve mode kicked in) but I don't know how far it will go before it runs out of gas maybe only 40 or maybe 160 I don't see a number in the manual, they likely don't want to make any promises and just say, "fill promptly."

Going out in my car now because I've got to pickup more stuff than I can carry back on the bike, damn and such nice weather. Rain tomorrow.

Reserve ??????

Yes when the gas gauge gets down to E it starts flashing. So you are running on empty. The display goes into RES mode.

1 - The ODO changes from total km's on the bike to 0 and the letters RES flash above the 0
2 - As you drive along in Reserve mode, the ODO counts up 1 2 3 ... so you know how many km you have driven since the E started flashing.
3 - When you fill up reserve mode is automatically cancelled the flashing RES goes away and the the ODO goes back to total km on the bike.
4 - Optionally Trip Meter 'A' automatically resets to 0 too with the fill up. There is a setting to turn that feature on or off.

I would guess (only because it seems reasonable to me) that one would get about 80 km on the count up before running out of gas. I'll carry some gas with me, let it run out and let y'all know.
