2015: What did you do to/with your NC700 today?

North on 77 from Augusta and then east on 170. Saw a really neat stone coral, drove by the oldest swinging bridge in Moline. Where 160 and 99 intersect, you can stop and fossils hunt: lots of chinoid stems, Branchiopoda, trilobites and other fossils from the Cambrian period.

Older son and I rode to the range today. Nothing special. Just up and back.

This new GoPro wannabe camera does not capture all that is in the viewfinder.

Rode up to Malad, Idaho from Syracuse, Utah. 170 miles round trip. Owned the bike for 8 days and will need the 600 mile oil change in the next day or two.

Made it home this morning from the Colorado Back Country Discover Route at 9:00am after an unplanned iron butt ride home. My hats off to all the Iron Butt riders. That was exhausting.

I've ridden with one of the guys several times so he wasn't surprised. The other guy was hesitant about it at first site but by the time we did the first big pass he was impressed with the bike.

There were a couple of times that I probably should have rev'd it up and slipped the clutch but instead I just gave her gas from off idle, she bugged a bit, and then motored on up.

On Friday, installed new windscreen and then took off on a 650 mile trip to Land Between the Lakes in far south western KY, north western TN. Thanks pismocycleguy for the hookup on the windscreen. It was nearly perfect, think I will be adding the spoiler to it for the final bump.

^^^^

Big respect Bama'..

Definitely!

I only had to pick my bike up once yesterday, at sea level give or take, and let's just say 50+ year old LBS just doesn't have the same enthusiasm as 20, 30, or even 40 year old LBS had, for such shenanigans lol *pant* * wheeze* *gasp*

Installed a SW-Motech rear carrier , and a Battery Tender port with USB Charger.

SW-MOTECH Steel-Rack Top Case Rack Honda NC700X 2011-2015 - RevZilla
This was a 30 minute install, no issues and looks VERY STURDY!

Installed a Battery Tender USB port and cable....you guys know what these are, so :)
I drilled a small hole in the service lid and installed a rubber grommet in the hole and ran the Tender cable into the Frunk. The USB charger connection is in the Frunk...so now I can charge my phone and accessories. Again a 30 minute job.

But still waiting for my SW-MOTECH 7/8" Barback Offset Handlebar Risers...they are on the way...

SW-MOTECH 7/8" Barback Offset Handlebar Risers - RevZilla

Note: RevZilla sez this will not fit a NC700, and they may be right. However I have measured everything 5 times...I believe it should fit fine without much if any issues with the cables.IMG_20150908_144116024_HDR[1].jpgIMG_20150908_144128755_HDR[1].jpgIMG_20150908_144138411[1].jpgIMG_20150908_144144012[1].jpg

Also moved the OEM short windshield back to the low position now that I have installed a Sargent Seat and Airhawk cushion...wanna see if that quiets things down some...just a test
trying not to have to purchase a windscreen yet...maybe latter

I would be surprised if they did not work, as the ultra common Rox risers are taller, and they work just fine. An interesting thing to note- seeing the "what bikes these fit" area lists an F800ST, which is what I had my Rox risers on, before transferring them to my NC700. One would *think* that if the same Rox fit the F800ST as the NC00X, that the Motech risers that fit the BMW should work for the NCX too, eh?

Best of luck that they do work, and aren't some oddball zombie things lol

Riding riding :)

*frown* wazzat?

Since this was only meant to be an SS Minnow trip (a three hour tour) I wasn't carrying my hatchet or Acme dehydrated chainsaw, so the result was...

Tea and snacks time! lol
