Question Should I get my bike inspected after low-speed crash?

I have the tools and inclination to work on it, just don't currently have a place to work on it (a.k.a a garage). I'm not about working on things in the elements anymore if I can help it. The thing for me is what you touched on, which is I go through the hassle of taking it to a repair shop...

Question Should I get my bike inspected after low-speed crash?

I was recently in a relatively low-speed crash last week (we had just made a turn so maybe 15-20mph) that involved an impact with a car. Basically, she turned right into a parking lot from the left-hand lane but was doing so while turning right onto the road from another road, so essentially...

Question Do you change your oil filter seasonally or by mileage?

I ride year round so I go off mileage. With that said, I change the oil and filters at the same time. For all the more money the filters are I just do it all at once so I don't have to worry about it.

Question Do you change your oil filter seasonally or by mileage?

There is a website, I don't remember it exactly but Google will know, that lists comparable oil filters. So you search for the Honda filter and it will list aftermarket filters that match it.

Denali DataDim Controller and Trigger Wizard Install

Update: After tearing apart the Trigger Wizard, I found that I didn't need a 6V SPDT relay to get it to work. I was originally under the impression that because the High Beam wire was only 5V it wasn't enough power to run the relay causing it to stay in normal condition. Once I started removing...

Denali DataDim Controller and Trigger Wizard Install

I was able to find a 6V SPDT automotive relay switch on digikey with a must operate voltage of 4.2 volts. It comes with the base so I am hoping I can just swap out the 12V relay on the trigger wizard with this 6V relay and be in business.

Denali DataDim Controller and Trigger Wizard Install

That does help, thank you. The trigger wizard has an automotive style 12v 30amp SPDT relay plugged into it. In theory, I could just get a 5v version and plug it in and fix the problem. Unfortunately, the only 5v SPDT relays I can find all have PCB style pins on them instead of blade type plugs...

Denali DataDim Controller and Trigger Wizard Install

Has anyone installed the Denali DataDim controller on a newer bike with LED headlight? I got everything Denali told me I needed, got it all hooked up but when I switch between high and low beam the intensity of the Denali lights stays the same. My concern is that while the headlight is ground...

2023 NC750X DCT on US Honda web site. No manual?

Neither will I. My 2020 has suited me well and I love it, but by the time I am ready for another bike my requirements will have changed. Right now, I live in a place that allows me to ride year round and being in the military, the DCT is a game changer for sitting in base traffic and needing to...

2023 NC750X DCT on US Honda web site. No manual?

I agree. I have noticed a significant decrease in activity on this forum over the last two years. The groups on Facebook are pretty active, though. Even if it is typically just new riders asking the same oil/tire questions. The sad part about that though is that the advice on those forums is...

    Auxiliary/spktlights

I appreciate the response, thank you. Unfortunately, I checked Denali's installation instructions that are on their website and they don't even discuss the wiring of the lights. Just the physical mounting, lens swapping, and how to properly aim them. I will probably reach out to them and see...

    Auxiliary/spktlights

I am thinking about getting these lights for my 2020 and have a couple of questions: 1. How do you like them? 2. Do you need the switch? I would like to wire them to be on all the time at about 20% and then go up to 100% when I turn on my high beams. What I don't know, and Denali doesn't really...

Scorpion eXo Cargo Air Jacket Real World Review

Interesting that the Cargo Air doesn't come with a back protector. I have the Vortex Air (looks almost identical minus the backpack attachment) which came with a back protector.

    2012 Sportster 1200 HOT BIKE!

Sounds to me like you learned a couple of things. Mostly, 1. there is a reason they make heat shields for motorcycle exhaust headers and 2. there is a difference in how much heat a liquid cooled engine puts off versus an air cooled one.

    Good Tires for Street Riding

I ride on grooved roads and across a number of open grate bridges with my Shinko's....no issues. To be more helpful though, if you are that concerned with it get a different front tire. Hell, you can get a pair of shinkos for the price of one michelin Road tire. Buy the front, if you don't like...

Michelin Launches New Road 6 Street Tires

I can't tell much difference. I have about 3k miles on them so far and they are starting to show signs of squaring off. Still plenty of tread though. I am pretty confident they won't last any longer than my ravens did.

HARDLY ABLE, SON: Why Harleys Are the World’s Best & Worst Motorcycles

That sounds like a dealer problem, not a manufacturer problem. If any dealer, for any vehicle, can't at least come in AT sticker price, that is a dealer who will never see my ugly face ever again. When I bought my Seventy-Two new in 2012 is cost me like $12,000 out the door, if I remember...

HARDLY ABLE, SON: Why Harleys Are the World’s Best & Worst Motorcycles

They tried that with Buell and it didn't really work out for them. I recently got my bike inspected at my local HD dealer and they had a PanAm there...it seemed like a nice bike. Personally I don't like the look of it, but I think it's a solid attempt at branching out. As far as their...

That is interesting, on my 2020 I had the same thing happen but on the 'clutch' side.

    Good Tires for Street Riding

I just replaced my rear Shinko Raven 009 after just shy of 12,000 miles with a Michelin Road 6. So far I have put about 150 miles on the Michelin. I can kind of tell a performance difference but it is hard to say considering it has been 12,000 miles since my Raven was new. Would I consider it to...
