    Oxfords warmer grips

I have the Oxford Heaterz Touring grips. They fit just fine on my 2018 NC750X. I don't think I've ever felt the need to go over 50%. I have handguards as well, so that helps keep the wind off, and I live in California, so the coldest I have ridden in is the high 30's. A nice feature too...

    Seat Concepts, version 2.0

I'm lucky enough to live about 3 hours south of his shop in Redding, CA so I was able to do a ride-in and have it made while I waited. Most of his stuff is all done through the mail. I was there in June and he was booked through August. He does it all himself. Some people will send it back and...

    Seen in the wild

About once a week I pass a guy on the other side of the road. I'm in my UPS truck heading back to the building with a time specific dropoff, he's going the other way. If I see him, it's odd how it's always in the same 100 yard stretch of a road that's over a mile long. It's kinda weird...

    Seat Concepts, version 2.0

Looks great, you did a really nice job. I tried doing the same thing with the factory seat. I shaved it down, inserted a different piece of foam that I thought would be awesome. Stapled it back together... and hated it. It looked horrible too. I called it Frankenseat. We can add "stapling...

    OEM hand guards

I have the honda factory handguards, I bought them mainly because I knew they would fit. Turns out, plenty of others would fit too. About the only thing I don't like about them is they have a mounting bracket about an inch wide that attaches to the handlebar that takes up space where you might...

Negative comments from others about DCT

42, here's the deal. Everyone that buys a motorcycle does a certain amount of analysis to determine what would be best for them. Sport bike, cruiser, ADV, etc. You've done the same here and like the NC. The DCT is part of that analysis. If shifting annoys you and ruins your experience, why...

    Random thoughts / pics thread

This ad appeared in a magazine a looong time ago. I realize some of you only have 700's, but those of us with the ferocious 750 better get working on our mustaches. (Sorry the pic is sidewise, not sure what the deal is there.)

    Hello from L.A. Lower Alabama!

Welcome Johnboy. I don't know much about the 500X but I've heard good things about it. I don't believe the DCT is an option though. I have a 2018 NC750X with the DCT and I'm thrilled with it. The low center of gravity makes it feel lighter than it is, so it's an easy bike to ride with...

would u pay $1000 to avoid a skinned knee??

Spend some time on Revzilla. There are more choices than you'll care to look at, most with very detailed videos and lots of rider reviews. You'll find 10 options within your budget. When I was at the MSF course, the instructor made a point that really stuck with me. He said (while holding up an...

    Cannot stop buying jackets.

Man, I was wondering if I was the only one with a jacket fetish. I started out with a Cortech and First Gear jaunt that was kind of a gift. Neither fit me quite right and as a new rider, I wasn't exactly sure of what I wanted in my ideal jacket so I made due until I figured it out. For me, a...

2019: What did you do to/with your NC700 today?

Well, I almost had a great ride. I've been on vacation this week and had a ride planned to go up the California coast on Highway 1 and stay overnight in Fort Bragg, then head back tomorrow. I was going to depart around 2:00 today after meeting with my contractor. That meeting got delayed, more...

Broke my CARDO Palktalk Slim headset

Man, that's great news. I hope it works out and they get that issue resolved permanently. I'm seriously thinking about getting one and really prefer the Cardo but this kind of thing is a concern. Let us know how the replacement goes, and have a safe trip.

    New Laam seat

I hear RDL is a great seat too and oddly enough, they're located about an hour north of Redding in. Must be the custom seat go-to destination of the west coast.

    New Laam seat

Will do. It may be a while before I can plan on that far but I've got a few rides planned that will be around 1,000 or so. That should provide some pretty good feedback for how well it does.

Ordered a Corbin seat this morning for my NC750x

Some people really like seat concepts. They send you a cushion and cover that you staple on to your factory seat pan, or you can send it to them and they’ll install it for a small fee. It’s not an expensive option, around $200 or so. Like any seat, works for this guy, not that one.

    New Laam seat

Hello everyone - new seats are a common topic of discussion so I thought I'd add to it. Melensdad just did a great review on his new Corbin so I'll copy his format and try to do justice to my new seat. I recently had it custom made with Laam Seats in Redding , CA. I live near enough that I was...

Broke my CARDO Palktalk Slim headset

I was checking them out on Revzilla and there were quite a few reviews from people complaining about the charging port and most of them complained about Cardo's customer service, or lack thereof, as well. They have to be abundantly aware there is a problem so will hopefully have a solution in...

    Fuel tank capacity?

Well, I fill it until it stops. Visually, it's right up near the top but not like what you do. I'll try that and see how much more I can get in there. I think the issue with my bike is the calibration on the fuel gauge. It shouldn't say I'm on reserve when I have almost 1.5 gallons remaining...

    Fuel tank capacity?

This recent trip was a lot of back roads, averaging about 50 mph, up to Lake Tahoe, CA, so definitely hills/inclines and was quite windy. The last leg back was mostly slab at 75 mph or so, also really windy. My mpg was all over the place. The indication on the instrument cluster was right around...
