    Lowering NC750X

I did the same modifications on my 2016. The links (turnbuckles) worked great, I returned the sidestand for fear it would break. Also cut and welded stock side stand.

    DCT shift motor failure

The reason they replaced the shift motor was because they said it had a short. Note: they have had to replace a number of shirt motors on Honda 4 wheelers that use DCT so that influenced their decision to look for a problem there.

    Gas tank blocked

I know where you mean and there are a lot of tubes and electrical wires stuffed into that cutout in the cover. I've been in there before and thanks for the warning to be careful to not pinch the hoses.

    Gas tank blocked

Update: The Dealer acknowledged the hoses that were supposed to be behind the shift motor and outside the frame were instead behind/inside the frame and the center stand had pinched them closed causing the tank to collapse. They will replace the tank.

    Gas tank blocked

I think when the Dealer replaced the shift motor they pinched a hose upon reassembly. Both the fuel tank Drain Hose A and the fuel tank Breather Hose come down just behind the Shift Motor. See pages 1-41 and 7-8 in the Shop Manual. Do you know exactly which hose you pinched?

    Gas tank blocked

I can only hope someone else has had a similar condition and can help solve this puzzle. I had gotten my bike back from fixing the shift motor failure and went for another ride. Came home after 140 miles and parked the bike. 6 days later I prepared to go for another ride. Rolled the bike off...

    DCT shift motor failure

After your comments pointing out my incorrect description of the state of the shift motor I talked to the lead mechanic (he didn’t make the comment) at the dealership who was directly involved in talking to Honda and asked him how he knew the shift motor was bad and should be changed. He said...

    DCT shift motor failure

On 9/14/19 I related a DCT problem on my 2016 NC700XD with 36,000 miles. It was stuck in 2nd gear and wouldn’t start. I finally got it back in neutral and functioning normally after lots of fiddling but my concern at that time was that I didn’t know for sure what had caused the problem and how...

    DTC Lockup

I hadn't remembered this and it probably could have corrected the situation much quicker. Thanks for pointing it out (I finally found it in the Manual). Guess all of these suggestions are important if you live with a DCT. Still wish I knew what caused it to stop in 2nd gear, not 1st and then...

    DTC Lockup

I have a 2016 NC700XD with 36,000 miles. On 9/14/19 after arriving home from a 2 hour ride and a quick gasoline fill-up. I killed the engine to open the garage. Went back to restart it and it was stuck in 2nd gear and therefore wouldn’t start. Thanks to the efforts of others on this forum who...

    86-1 code on 2015 Nc700x DCT

Thanks for your post. Found it in a search on the forum and it fixed my "stuck in 2nd gear" problem. I'll check the battery connections tomorrow. Helix

How many miles on your DCT?

2016 nc700xd Changed oil and filters (more often than spec.) new chain, checked valves. No problems at all, and 26,200 miles in 25 months, with 1-1/2 months off for a pacemaker. Really like to ride this bike and love the ability to change it's character with the click of a paddle.

    R&R Rear Axle Tip

Someone may have already commented on this, but I couldn't find a post dealing with reinstalling the axle on the 700X after wheel removal. I've now gone through 4 sets of tires and have been doing something the last two times that has made reinstalling the axle much easier. The axle...

Hillbilly Hangout IV, April 13-16, 2017

I really enjoyed getting to meet you guys, if only for a short visit. We had good weather but I must say I was concerned when I saw that squall line headed for you Sunday morning. Just glad everyone got home safely. If you've never seen OCR fly a drone you're in for a treat. I'd ride in a...

    Motowerk Bar Riser Installation

I read many posts where people on the list installed the 2” bar risers from ROX. I didn’t want that much change so I bought 1” risers from Motowerk. Since I can’t find a post from anyone installing these I’ll show my installation of them on a 2016 NC700XD. Their instructions were for...

    Soupy's Links and Sidestand Install

After Hammy made this post I had to question my use of Soupy's adjustable kickstand. I removed it, cleaned it and sent an email to Soupy's reminding them that I bought the kickstand after I told them, in my initial email to them (with several questions), that I mounted the bike by using the...

    Soupy's Links and Sidestand Install

After installing the Seat Concepts foam and cover on the stock seat of my 2016 NC700XD I was pleased with the improved comfort and the angle of the seat, but it did raise the front of the seat enough (1/2”?) that I could tell lowering the bike would be an improvement for my 31” inseam. I...

    Seat Concepts installation and evaluation

Grrant1058, The stock seat is pitched down in the front (that's why most owners complain about it) and my SC seat, in the stock position, is noticeably higher in the front. It even has extra foam to bridge the gap with the tank that results when you place the stock seat on top of the tongue...

    Seat Concepts installation and evaluation

I finally gave up on the stock seat. I tried the seat tongue over the loop and that really helped and convinced me that raising the front of the seat was part of the solution. Seat Concepts (SC) states that they built up the front and dished out the rear portion so I was pretty sure that was...

    2016 NC700X/XD Service Manual

I Googled for a 2016 Service Manual and ordered what I thought was the correct manual. Turned out it was for 2012-2015 NC700X/XD. I know there are several places to get manuals but I'm posting this because I like to know if a supplier backs up their claims of refund or replacement to correct a...
