It’s been fun... been a great 3 years with the bike but time to move on.
Maybe an FJR or a BMW RT... maybe even a cruiser? We’ll see what the future brings.
Thanks to everyone for the advice and conversation over the past 3 years. Be safe!
Are there any frame sliders or guards that protect the rear of the bike, particularly the muffler? I am thinking of doing an advanced riding course and practicing my slow speed riding and want some extra protection. I currently have Givi engine bars on the front. This would be for very slow...
Someone on one of the NC Facebook forums posted about replacing the rear shock with a shock for a old CBR F4i. No mods needed, direct replacement. Another user commented that they did it too.
They are pretty cheap on Ebay and may be a relatively good mod for not too much money.
Anyone...
I know this has been asked before but I am confused about it... and also a little paranoid about electrical stuff.
I want to get lights to mount to my engine guards.
I have a 2014 NC750X non-DCT. It has factory heated grips and the factory installed cigarette plug in the frunk. I bought...
I need a new pair of boots. Does anyone have any wisdom to share or comments (good or bad) about any I mention below?
80% of my riding is commuting, so I started looking into a pair of boots that I could wear at the office. One of the things I am discovering about motorcycle boots/shoes is...
A three-alarm fire broke out Thursday morning at Hully Gully.
I am glad I didn't store my bike there this winter...
"...the blaze was contained to a building at the back of the main structure..."
They store customer's bikes, boats etc in the back building.
Explosions, leaping flames...
My favorite YouTube vlogger takes the NC750X (manual) for a ride and reviews it (a little). I believe it is a 2015 (or earlier) model.

Generally, the same review as most. It is a bike that doesn't excel at anything but does...
Hoping to get some feedback and recommendations. I have used a GoCruise type throttle lock and it is ok, but I am not a huge fan of it. I find it awkward to engage and it is hard to set to just the right speed and many times slowly drops in speed as it is engaged.
I found a few Ebay...
I hope this is an ok place to put this post - I couldn't find a specific spot to post good deals. There is the "review' area, but haven't used it yet, so no review.
Finally a deal for the Canadian readers!
I went today to buy this at "full price" of $79.99 and it came up at the cash on sale...
I went to start the bike today and it wouldn't start. Mostly just buzzing and clicking.
I bought a .75a battery tender (https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/everstart-2-amp-charger-maintainer/6000189395270) and left it on for an hour before trying it. It worked... started up with almost no problem...
I am planning on a tour on Sept 1-4th and it is going to be my first away from home bike tour. I have a couple of questions if anyone can help.
I am typically an over-planner and I am trying to chill out and let the ride happen, but not having a lot of experience with it I am not sure about...
I was looking for a small ratchet tie down to store in my bag for an upcoming trip - mainly to use on the ferry.
I took a walk through Harbor Freight looking for ideas and came across these:
Figure 9 Rope Tightener, Large with Camo Rope, Black Finish
It is the best tie down I have ever...
I looked around the forums and wasn't able to find any recent threads about this, so I thought I would ask for recommendations for an adjustable clutch lever.
I am finding lots of options, at lots of price points. Does anyone have an aftermarket lever and want to offer your opinions on it...
This turned out to be a pretty big hassle... but I think it turned out great in the end.
Problems:
The mounts showed up Chrome
The footpegs were glossy black (I knew that)
The footpegs didn't fit into the mounts well - loose and needed drilling out
The Givi bars were to skinny for these...

I ran out for a coffee this morning and drove by one of my local diners. Out front was about 10 bikes, all parked together - they were definitely together... all different kinds. A couple BMWs, Goldwing, Africa Twin, some japanese cruisers.
It got me thinking... how do these groups form...
It is very common to see posts asking about mods on a bike when a user posts a picture of their bike. Is there a way to add a field, a large free-text area where members can list all the mods or changes, etc that they have done to their bikes? That way, if you are every curious about a...
I have a 22" MadStad and Givi hard side and top cases so will likely need a size up from stock.
I like the look/idea of the stretching ones like below. I think it would be smaller when stored, maybe?
My recent tire puncture repair has got me thinking that I may been to learn some basic maintenance skills and carry with me some different tools and supplies.
There has been discussion on what is needed for long distance touring. In your opinion what skills, knowledge and equipment/tools are...
I am always interested in seeing what others have changed or added on their bikes so I thought I would throw together a summary of mine so far.
