    Tail bag on rear seat?

I replace the pillion with a flat panel that has a hole cut out to refill without opening the seat. It takes about 5 minutes tops to switch between them. https://www.nc700-forum.com/threads/cutting-board-pillion-rack.15243/#post-209945

    Tool recommendation

I have a complete mix from Snap-on 3/8 ratchet sets, Facom, old school Craftsman, Canadian Tire & Taiwanese brands (Toptul). For me the important points are comfortable, non-slip handles, and a decent tooth count. Then a ratchet with socket release is handy (which only my Craftsmans + CTs...

Need new tent I can sit inside on my camp chair while raining outside

Have you seen the Atacama at 14 lbs? It's specifically intended for motorcycle camping. https://redverz.com/atacama/ If that's not suitable a consider tarp. I use a couple; a 12 foot diamond with bugnet from Eureka and a 13 foot rectangular one over my camping hammock.

    question on led headlights

I feel it's a throwback to the 'great' age of classic motorcycles of the 1950s & 1960s. They all leaked oil at some point and with black clothes it was less noticeable. (Source: person whose elder brother owned countless 1950s-1970s BSAs, Matchless, AJSs & Nortons, but never a Honda)

    Manually changing down on DCT

The manual is stored in a small compartment at the bottom of the 'Frunk' (front storage compartment). It has a body panel clip- just press in the center line to release it and open the lid. A lot of people miss it. You can downshift or upshift at will when riding. You can also change driver...

    Adventure Rider Arricle Revisiting NC700

The NC never achieved the status it should have in North America because it ran counterpoint to the 'more, bigger, faster' mantra that motorcycle mags pushed for decades. It was/is very popular where motorcycles as practical transportation is valued.

    Need Help Rear Shock options

Here's two options: A Sachs shock for Aprillas https://www.nc700-forum.com/threads/aprilia-tuono-rear-shock-sachs.6713/ Or the aftermarket YSS shocks, they're on the the highest milage NC I know of (in the US https://epmperf.com). He gets his inspected at the manufacturer's yearly.

    A Different Speedometer Accuracy Question

I always thought speed was generally limited by a rev limiter. That is once the red line is reached the spark is cut. Depending on the style it could be hard (no spark until revs reduced by a set amount) or soft (spark limited to say 2 out of 3 cycles).

    flaw

I would bring it into your dealer, contact Honda Canada and transport Canada. This is a safety issue. https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transportation/defects-recalls-vehicles-tires-child-car-seats/report-potential-safety-defect-vehicles-tires-child-car-seats

    Battery or...???

If your battery's original it's certainly living on borrowed time. As other's have said stick a multi-meter (cheap ones are fine for this) on it and see what's happening.

    Motorcycle jump starters

I got an Anker unit on close-out. I have to remove the rubber retaining straps to get to the terminals, but when you need one, you need one.

    Help ID these racks

I think the mounting brackets (the silver part) are for Trekker Outback Monokeys, see here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0263/7053/9606/files/OBK37-OBK48.pdf?1982 More info on the specifics in this Forsale posting...

I think I can do it

Linked brakes weren't 'standard' across the several generations and regions. Until you check your bike itself, I'd assume they'd wouldn't be linked as default.

    Question Dashboard compatibility

The second generation had a TFT dash. Depending on the setup the colours (mainly of the tach) could change in different gears, or rpm ranges. The down side was/is you'd need the manual to figure how to change the clock and accidental button presses would send it into disco mode, which would take...

    Dry Bag

My Watershed dry duffels are about 15 years old and still very good bags. They're not motorcycle specific, being intended mainly for on water use but they're very tough. I have both 70 & 30 litre sizes. Site here; https://www.drybags.com and a review from outdoor gear labs here...

    Bicycle riding

Used to do bike touring; Nova Scotia, by flying into Yarmouth and flying out of North Sydney, the Cabot trail (that one just about killed me), PEI (not as flat as you'd think) and Gaspe.
