Dohhh, I ordered some before reading the slightly negative comments on the more recent posts! Actually I think I would still have ordered them anyway, as I do like the look of them and the fact that they retain the OE bar-end weights. Just hoping that they fit my DCT, though I can't see any...
Wonder why the big stand-off filled with a fat spacer on the bar-ends - any ideas? Must add an inch-and-a-half to the effective width of the bike, and that will be an issue for some folks.
I went from a manual 700 to a DCT 750, so can't really compare like with like. Saying that, the 750 definitely pulls stronger, feels smoother, and the rough patch my 700 had around 3000rpm is gone. No noticeable change to mpg either.
Solent Biker, I fitted universal 'BikeIt' ones. Simple to do but can be a bit fiddly. After fitting several sets, I found it's much easier if you hold the grippy rubber strip in place on the forks and stick a small piece of black pvc tape over the join where the ends of the strip meet. With the...
For your info, a bunch of guys here in the UK already had theirs replaced under warranty and the rest of us are expecting a letter. Also there's a Honda website over here where you can enter your VIN number and find out if your bike is affected. I'll try and find out if it covers US bikes and...
Greetings neighbour! Not been out on mine today but had a couple of nice rides in the winter sunshine earlier in the week. The NC750X is a great bike and suits me much better than the 700X I had before it or the TDM900 that came in between. I've been to Le Mans a few times and you'll love it. In...
Fitted one of Dale Gray's (aka hondabikepro on this forum) most excellent rear racks. Bolted right on and located in catches perfectly both sides. That he is able to achieve this level of quality and accuracy on a small-batch production item is a real testament to his ability as an engineer...
My set-up works better for me than the OE screen or Honda touring screen or Givi on its own (I'm 5' 9" with 31" inseam). If I was starting over, I'd be tempted to cut the hassle and pay the higher price for the MadStad. Mind you, I only found that out by trying all the other stuff!!
To create 'laminar airflow' - squeezing the air through the gap between the two screens has the effect of focusing and accelerating the airflow up and over the rider's head.
"... I have a back wheel that loses traction where it didn't previously and a front wheel that leaves the floor from full throttle standing starts, it's only an inch or two but it definitely leaves the floor."
Sounds like 2 good reasons for returning the bike to standard spec (just kidding -...
The plastic knobs for tool-less adjustment are an optional extra costing £10. If you visit the Palmer Products website, select 'accessories' drop-down menu, select the NC700X (750X not shown but it's the same), there's an option drop-down for the adjuster brackets that shows black powder-coating...
I'm 5' 9" with 31" inseam and went from standard OE to Honda Touring to Givi to Givi plus Palmers then added my own inner panel. I agree with the comments already posted about the relative merits of different screens. Based on my own experiences and everything I've read on this and the UK forum...
Nice job - this is just the kind of project I love to do and am lucky enough to have the time to do it. My last diy mod was the rad guard shown below.

If you costed in the hours it took me, it would have been cheaper...
