i have been lane splitting in CA for 10 years now, it is almost the reason i have a motorcycle, i commute everyday to work. if I drive it takes me 1hr to get to work, if i split lane in the motorcycle i get there is 20-25 min.
it would really help traffic if more people were to ride.
the mana seat height is pretty high, you might not need a lowering kit. try it first and wait for the suspension to settle, you might find that you dont need it
you should start charging half of what every shop around your are charges- make some of the money back, help another ride save money and create competition ... win for everyone !!
had it for about 8 months

i had a noise with the madstad 20 inch, i went for the biggest shield and drilled a few inches lower. and played with the angle for hours. is really quiet now
if you read the owners manual it said to replace the sprocket when it looks a certain way- ( there is some pictures on that page)
it said to replace the chain when certain criteria has been meet.
i think the "replace together" method was marketed by the sprocket and chain manufacturer...
I have solved the issues with buffeting noise. i still love my NC and commute 40 miles per day
i did replace my mirror with mirror i got on ebay, lower and rounder in the back profile.
but the biggest change i did was the madstad screen, i got a 22 inch screen, drilled few inches...
i dont know if my experience will help you.
when i got the NC new the front suspension was also very harsh and never did anything about it. 20k miles later, the front suspension is very acceptable to me. i mean going from the stop pirelli tire to a michelin pr3 also made things better.
