Heathen + Valley of the Gods

I used a GoPro Hero 3 for both the timelapse and the ride shots. The resolution is lower than my source due to the specs that I created it for. Just repurposing the same content for me blog. Thanks! I also use an iPhone 5 for live snaps from the road, and a compact Nikon P7700 for stills that I...

Heathen + Valley of the Gods

The video's intent isn't particularly to showcase my work. The video's intent was to translate my own experience. I make so many images compulsively, without thought of sales, or how they'll be received. I hope they're well received and that I sell a few, but that's not what drives me. Always...

Observations and Questions after 7270 miles

Just got back from a ride after lubing the shifter linkage. Big difference... Greg was right. Thanks! Am going to change the oil too for that last little bit of smoothness, but I think I accidentally ended up blasting all the lube off the linkage in one of my car wash visits. In fact, I...

Observations and Questions after 7270 miles

I only did the 85-100mph way out in West Texas with mild wind. Oil country... flat... often no one out there but you. I don't need to go that fast but I wanted to see what it would do. With a headwind on the interstate, it'd be tough to break 85mph. In Texas, there are highways with an 85mph...

Observations and Questions after 7270 miles

Those bottles are a good idea. Wish I could get something similar to them that collapsed like the Platypus water bags... I'd just have them packed rolled in the front tank, and only use when I've got a long stretch coming. What I did was just not go past around 165 miles without filling up...

Observations and Questions after 7270 miles

No way! Marriage bliss is not over at all! LOVE the bike and it's perfect for my use, ie. mostly riding around town, but holding it's own on a few long distance tours with occasional off-road if I need to get to a campsite. Would buy another one. Slippy wasn't quite the right word I guess. It...

Observations and Questions after 7270 miles

Hi, I'm wrapping up my last posts for my travel blog here: Moto-Southwest 2013 The trip was a little over 4000 miles and the ncx preformed well for the most part. Some observations: Off-road performance was better than I expected. Did some VERY rough washboard, mixed with erosion and large...

NCX in the in route in Southwest

The road in/out of Chaco Canyon was brutal but the Honda nc700x delivered. On to a hovenweep and Aztec ruins now. Blogging trip here Moto-Southwest 2013 — skip hunt + photo

    Heading toward NM this Week!

Taking off toward Chaco Canyon, and then wingin' it after that. Shooting for departure this week. Likely Thursday. Will be blogging mostly from my site HERE but I've added some info for the folks who sometimes support my photography/travel, etc. with their patronage. So disregard that stuff...

    Austin/Galveston/Texana

Thanks! Yes, I just stop if I see something really good. Or, park in a town and just walk around.

    Austin/Galveston/Texana

So far, so good. Less adept at fast 80mph highway speeds on windy days than my strom is, but I like the lighter feel and better mpg. Though, that's all over the map. Some tanks I get as low as 52mpg which isn't horrible, but mostly hovering around 65mpg. I knew this would not be the best high...

    Texas Ride Video on nc7x

Thanks. Yeah... I know. Normally I at least wear pants, and on longer rides wear coat/gloves/boots. But I'd just gone for a ride from my camp site and lived dangerously for a little while. :)

    Texas Ride Video on nc7x

Yes. It's a laminar lip. If you are looking for less turbulence & less noise, then yes it helps. If you are looking for more wind protection, then no... no really. So far, it meets my needs.
