Mounting GPS above the LCD display

I my opinion the Tourtech lockable GPS cradle with the Garmin Montana GPS, the Palmer products windshield adjustor and the additional accessory bar is the way to go. I know it's a bit pricey, but it is extremely durable and weatherproof. It fits perfectly right above the instrument panel and...

What GPS do you use ?

I used the Garmin Montana lockable cradle mount and electrical cradle setup from Tourtech for my 8,500 mile 22 state trip last summer. It served me and my friend really well. It's not that most advanced GPS, but it is extremely rugged, weatherproof and easy to read and operated. I have the...

38 day, 8,571 mile journey ends.

I did mention about the changes I made to my seat on page two of this post. Even with the changes I made we still took frequent breaks each day. The longest stretch we had was was a 130 miles without a break. Frequent rest stops was the key to our success!!

38 day, 8,571 mile journey ends.

I brought basic tools to work on the bike. I also bought and took a tire repair kit with a pump. I put a pig tail with the correct connector on the battery to run that pump if we needed it. Fortunately we didn't. It fits very well in the front trunk. The same connector worked for the air...

38 day, 8,571 mile journey ends.

Jody and I used 1 1/2 quick clamps with a clevis. We also used black rubber foot pegs. We attached the clamps to the down tubes just above the plastic bottom guard that covers the exhaust and radiator reservoir. Jody used a Corbin seat. We live 1/2 hour away from Corbin so he rode into the...

38 day, 8,571 mile journey ends.

I got the state flag stickers on Amazon. They were around $5.00. I had my original seat reupholstered by Parkland upholstery in Washington State. It has a lot more surface area and padding than the original seat. I also did the slope change on the seat that has been mentioned on this website.

38 day, 8,571 mile journey ends.

The picture of both of us riding was taken by a photographer set up on the side of the road on a portion of the tail of the dragon. The tail is only a 11 mile stretch of roadway and in that stretch was at least 3 different photographers on the side of the road. They all have big banners...

Unfortunately I could not find a U.S.company that sells them. I ordered from consolidated motor spares B.V. In the Netherlands. They were a good company to order from. Cost was $40-45 for the two lenses which included the international shipping. Part # 08L55MCW80007 = left panel and part #...

    My new Parkland (Rocky) Seat

I did break in my SHAD seat. I have over 4000 miles on it. It's pretty good, but I still get sore and uncomfortable after 100 miles or so. The Rocky seat seams like a better option. Looks like more surface area and I like the cutout in the center for ventilation.

    My new Parkland (Rocky) Seat

I am very interested in getting my stock seats reupholstered from Rocky's upholstery. I talked to him today and he gave me a quote of $500-$550 for the front and rear seat. Is that around the price you guys paid for your seats from him. I am going on a 6000 mile ride this summer and I am...

    Rear brake clicking sound!

I don't think it's a normal sound due to the fact my friend has the exact same bike that does not make the sound. The person who posted the YouTube video stated he had the bike serviced and had the rear brake "Cleaned" and the sound went away. I am not sure what he meant, but I did not have...

My 2013 nc700x has developed a clicking sound when I apply the rear brake. There is no vibration or noticeable a noticeable problem with the rear brake but the clicking sound. The bike only had 1200 miles on it. I took it in to the dealership and the diagnosed the problem as bad rollers in...
