    New Paint

I really wanted to do the saran wrap method but it just doesn't work well with spray cans. The paint dries too fast. The soap was a last minute decision. I can't take credit for the process... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0TT5vvPKJw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOacdxYQOx0...

After 3 coats of clear. There is a lot of orange peal right now. It will still need wet sanding and polishing.

    New Paint

I'm going to hit it with the wax & grease remover again. I used spray cans so it dries incredibly fast! I experimented a few times before this process...first time I used 3 coats before rinsing and waited 10 min between each coat...it didn't work well...required lots of sanding with 800 grit to...

    New Paint

No problem...I sanded thoroughly, cleaned with wax & grease remover, primed (3 coats), black paint (3 coats), made designs with dishwashing soap, immediately painted with flat green (1 semi-heavy coat), spray off soap with hose after about 1 minute, and then leave to dry/cure. Plastics take 5-7...

    New Paint

I'm not sure how I'll feel about this once it's back together...but it was time for a change! This is just a preview. I will have to let it cure until next weekend before applying clear-coat.

Intermittent Engine Shutting off. (not engine failure)

Found it! What a pain it is to remove the battery box! However, within seconds of getting it off I believe found the culprit. The left (No.1) fuel sensor plug was not seated properly! I tugged gently on both cables and No.1 came off without resistance of any kind. I blew out both ends and...

    Is rear shock adjustable?

Hard to say...I was too preoccupied with my engine shutting off at 75 mph. I believe any difference would be negligible. I was mainly trying to take the slack (is that sag?) out of it. You could push down on the seat and get several inches of play...its a little better now.

Does anyone have a tip for releasing the EVAP purge control solenoid valve hose [14]? Page 2-30 It is holding up the show for my getting to the fuel injector sensors. On another note, there were no gaskets in my air filter.

Fault Codes Revealed I took the bike to the dealership today, 25 miles each way, without the fault reoccurring. After a couple hours of waiting (I didn’t have an appointment), I was told I had the following fault codes: DTC Code Function Failure Symptom/Fail-Safe Function Refer to page...

Motobrain IOS/Android controlled PDU kickstarter - check it out

I came across this little jewel in another thread. I was all set to do a write-up on it but I’m obviously late to the party. Has anyone used this device and have any reviews on it. It is complete overkill and I wants it badly… I really like that you can program things like having the high beams...

    Givi engine bars

So how do you get the bolt out on the upper right? It is blocked by the clutch cable and the fuel feed hose. I haven't seen anything on this in my reading. Regards, Mark

Intermittent Engine Shutting off. (not engine failure)

I don't believe I accidentally toggled the kill switch twice in one day after never having done it before. Battery connections are not loose. I just started the bike and vigorously wiggled the key with no effect. I washed the bike thoroughly over the weekend but didn't have this issue till...

Intermittent Engine Shutting off. (not engine failure)

I am keeping the trip to the dealer in my back pocket for now. My goal is to become self sufficient in regards to maintenance/repairs (with help from these interwebs) as I will be moving overseas and won't have a dealer nearby. While I did try to select a title that would garner attention, an...

Intermittent Engine Shutting off. (not engine failure)

Yesterday on the way to work, my engine shut off and the check engine light came on. I was cruising at about 75 mph and was unable to restart on the move. I turned on flashers and coasted to a safe stopping location. After verifying there were no fluids pouring from the bike, I toggled the...
