Google “do active noise canceling devices offer hearing protection” and make your own decision. There is a lot of information available on the subject.

Cold start noticed a few tiny coolant drips on the floor. Coming from water pump area.

I would ride it and monitor the weep hole area over a period of time. The type of seal Honda uses can weep a small amount of coolant at start up if the bike has been sitting a while.

    Question New Tires

So in 100,000 miles the confidence and safety margin afforded by riding on proven grippy all-weather tires only costs $364 more? What a bargain.

2023: What did you do to/with your NC700/NC750 today?

On today's to-do list was a valve check and coolant change. Two exhaust valves were at the minimum clearance of 010" after 25,110 miles. Technically I could have left them for the next 16,000 mile interval but I moved them to the middle of the allowed tolerance. I did a baseline valve check at...

    Noise cancelling earbuds

The high frequency white noise from wind rushing is very harmful to our hearing. Noise canceling devices do not offer any protection to this injury. Devices that offer hearing protection will have a NRR(Noise Reduction Rating). If the tech specs or device literature does not list a NRR rating...

    Phyllis Grace Dickinson

From the earliest days of this forum a member named Beemerphile (Lee) has been very helpful to many of us. His knowledge of engineering and motorcycles was reflected not only here but in other motorcycle forums. His wife Phyllis Grace Dickenson passed away Friday morning. Phyllis was a healer...

2023: What did you do to/with your NC700/NC750 today?

I don't think I want to extend the change interval beyond 24,000 miles.

2023: What did you do to/with your NC700/NC750 today?

The area directly under the intake snorkel was very dirty with visible dirt packed in the pleats but the rest of the filter was relatively free of visible dirt. What we can’t see is the interstices of the filter media. It needed changing IMHO as it had doubled the recommended mileage interval of...

Can a chain be *bad* at only 2,550 miles?

Nevertheless the OEM chains do not last as long as we would like. When it's time you will get longer life with the DID VX3.

How about a game of NC tag? Its a lot of fun!

I was riding to move a tag in another forum so I guess I got a Thursday Twofer. I went by the dirt track on the way to the other tag and circled back to get this picture.

How to secure Honda OEM top box

The box normally locks with a key. It can’t be opened or removed when locked. The lock mechanism must be broken or disconnected.

    Mismatched tires

Many bikes even today come from the factory with a bias ply tire on one end and a radial on the other. Not mixing tire construction type on motorcycles is an old wives tale.

About the same temp here this morning 185 miles early in order to beat the late morning rain prediction (which was true).

Question about replacing the headlight bulb in Honda Elite 80

I have a service manual for it and it does give information on checking the charging system, the alternator, and the rectifier/regulator. I will get around to the diagnostics and update. At rest voltage is 12.2 - I know the battery is weak but it does start the scooter. Idle voltage is 12.4 and...

Question about replacing the headlight bulb in Honda Elite 80

I'm not sure where to post this thread. It does involve my Non NC700 motorcycle but it's also an electrical question. I have a 1986 Honda CH80 scooter. The headlight went out on it and the light is no longer available from Honda. The headlight originally was replaceable as a single unit with...
